Stephen
I took apart my skimmer yesterday for some routine maintenance and now that I have it back together I can get it to bubble up.. I have the vertical adjustment pipe all the way up and the air nozzle wide open. I don't know much about these skimmers as it is. What should I do? The skimmer is a Euro Reef RS-
esacjack
check the airline attachment coming from the fitting near the pump. If it happens to kink or come loose, you'll end up with no foam or poor performance. Also, sometimes salt deposits can form on the fittings coming from the pump to your air valve. But it definitely sounds like an airline problem.
Stephen
Checked the airline and it seems to be fine. I was reading the manual and it said to lubricate the o-ring with silicone lubricant.. I used olive oil.. Think that would cause it not to foam? esacjack
i believe olive oil is going to be too viscous and less likely to function as a proper long term lubricant under water :/ Can you hear hissing coming from the airline?

(Bio)³
Can you blow into the air line and get bubbles at all? This concourses when I had salt build up in my 90 where the air fed into the pump
esacjack
+1 try blowing air through he airline to see if bubbles form. Likely you have something clogging up the airline. When you say 'no bubbles' do you mean no foam rising up the neck? or you dont see ANY motion in the skimmer at all? Also, if you got the air valve wet, bubble creation will be slow.
