HBH Aqua-Pure Cut-To-Fit Filter Pads

Last week at RCA I decided to try out an HBH Aqua-Pure Cut-To-Fit Carbon Pad and a HBH Aqua-Pure Cut-To-Fit Ammonia Pad. Since I use Shane of Fishy Business's sump design, I already have a mechanical, foam filter. I just cut and slid these pads behind my foam filter. That should help them last longer as I clean the foam filter weekly. I'm curious to see if they improve anything (they're cheap and much cheaper than Poly-Filter but not as versatile), and I'll post if anything unexpected happens. Anyone else ever use these?
