lewisweil
I have been looking for awhile for Keyhole Limpets (Megathura crenulata). I need that species specifically. It's for science! I have seen a few places list them but I've never found them for sale. Any leads are appreciated! (No animals will be harmed. )

+o0zarkawater
How about elephant slugs instead? I have plenty of those, cleaned every last bit of GHA off my rocks. Plenty of GHA on the powerheads where they dont go, but the rocks are clean.

lewisweil
Wow, the power of ARC. I would love to buy some. Where did you get them originally? I'm still down to get them from more than one source if anyone else has them or knows a store/collector.
(Bio)³
arent these the type that eat coral? I keep finding mixed results about keyhole limpets
jestep
I moved most my elephants to my sump as I found them munching on a acro base one morning. Supposedly they don't eat coral. Edit, NM, missed that this was for research...
lewisweil
As far as I know the detritivores and herbivores. It wouldn't surprise me if the get opportunistic in aquaria though. Yeah it is for research project. Science!
(Bio)³
I keep finding people pointing back to this http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2004-06/rs/index.php other Limpets are great algae eaters, I was just under the impression keyhole limpets are bad due to their diet. lewisweil
hmmm well that will make them harder to feed. but they will get their own species tank so I am not too worried about it. that article doesn't mention the genus Im interested in though. I obviously have more reading to do!

pecman347
I might also have a few... they're in a BC 29 and they've been doing pretty good with eating film algae and the like. Although they're really small, like 4mm? I think they have a hole on the top, but I can check later tonight when I get home from work.
