I set the LED's to be 12" off the water so that i still have room to stick my hands in the tank without removing the hood. My camera isn't working right now but hopefully i'll get some pics soon. sifuentes31 Posted December 5, 2012 Author Share Posted December 5, 2012 Finally had time to hook everything together this past weekend. I love the color of the tank and also the shimmer. So i made the aluminum frame at work and used the some acrylic for the splash gaurd. I used one of my companys fans we use for sound booths so it is very quiet and puts out a lot of air. I used PC power cords for the connections and makes it easy to unplug if i have to remove the canopoy for some reason. Way easier!!! I mounted everything on the side of the stand so that i can get to easier. I used an electrical duplex box with a blank cover, popped out the side holes and hogged them out with a dremel in the shape of the female PC connections. The meanwells put out alot of heat so i'm glad i mounted them on the outside where they will get some moving air. For now i used the mechanical timers i got at Sears. Got em for free since i had some reward points. Hopefully soon i'll get an aqua controller for easier use. So here are the lights on over my tank. I'm still working on the canopy but at least i have my lights. Still batteling GHA but it's looking better than it did and Jake from RCA is going to help me out with this weekend. But all in all i love the color of the tank and i'm ready to grow out some coral. Oh and in a side note i just got in my replacement Driver from China. It only took 4 MONTHS but it's in.
