Big Clay Posted July 22, 2012 Share Posted July 22, 2012 It has been a bad week i just lost my female joculator angel to marine velvet. My male joc has it aswell. I just moved my tank 3 weeks ago and all this came on from the stress. I dont have a qt tank set up right now. But have been trying to treat this with garlic. Timfish Posted July 22, 2012 Share Posted July 22, 2012 I've had inconsistant results with Metronidiazole but it is reef safe and might give you a little more breathing room. Unfortunately there is nothing that will work for the parasites that are burrowed into the skin so you definitely need to setup a QT. I would not do a fresh water dip, from what I've seen it only adds stress to an already debilitated fish and will not kill any parasites already attached.
