+Mel in Elgin
How often do you change filter socks? mine is really brown and gross looking but it is covered with pods. I hate to lose all of them by changing it out...
mFrame
Ideally they should be changed weekly. You can shake it to dislodge pods back into your sump, then throw the filter socks into the wash on HOT (no detergent or fabric softener). No need to dry them. +Mel in Elgin
Oh wow! I didn't realize they could be cleaned and reused... Thanks.
bimmerzs
I rotate between 5 filter socks and try to change them out at least once a week or sooner if I'm home. Cheers,
jestep
Mine start overflowing into the sump when they need replaced. Happens after about every 5 - 7 days. They're pretty old at this point, so new socks may have no problem making it a full week.
