wesreyn
This isnt really a new build since it has been set up for about 6 months but I wanted to start this thread to kinda blog and write about what is going on in my tank. It is a 60Lx18Wx24H Oceanic Reef Ready tank with dual corner overflows. It has a custom canopy that I built myself. The sump is a PM sump where i use 2 filter socks and have carbon and a bit of chaeto lit up by a little PC light from Lowes on a alternate light cycle. I have 7, 54 watt T5 bulbs running on Icecap ballasts and reflectors. My bulb selection is 4 blue plus, 2 aquablue special and 1 purple plus. The 4 blue plus run from 12:30-10:30 and the other 3 run from 1:30-9:30. My return pump is a Mag 9 and I have a Tunze Turbelle Stream 6105 dialed down to about 50% for flow in the main display. I have a Reefkeeper 2 for control and a Tunze auto top off. Here are some pics of the setup and I will list livestock and post more pics shortly. wesreyn
My tank has around 80-90 pounds of live rock. For livestock, I am really slow to add. I dont like to disrupt the system so I tend to add slower than most people. Right now for fish I have a yellow fin flasher wrasse, extreme misbar ocellaris clown, Platinum clown, Yellow belly Hippo tang, and a soon to be gone coral beauty angel. The Yellow belly hippo is still young so she hasnt developed the yellow belly yet but in person her belly is kinda transparent with a yellow tint so I hope she starts to change soon. The clowns havent paired yet but im hoping they do so eventually. The Platinum lives in a Green BTA with purple tips and the misbar just roams around. The coral beauty will be gone soon because he has been picking at my sps and my acans. I dont really remember what my cleanup crew is because some of it I moved from a 20 gallon tank I had before this. I also bought a quick crew from reef cleaners for a 30 gallon tank. I have numerous corals, mostly frags. Im not going to list them all now but I may get to them eventually. I just got back into SPS and they are all doing great. +Grog
Is the whitish clown with black fins the platinum? I'm still trying to learn the coloration names. Neat looking fish, haven't seen one like that before.

wesreyn
Its been a while since I have updated so I figured I would. I have just been on cruise control with this tank. Havent done a water change or anything to it really in about 4 months. Other than having to clean the glass about once a week and dump in a little 2 part every now and then for the SPS, it is pretty self sufficient. Here are a few pics, I will post more later. +SChrisEV
I've always loved the Chevon Tangs, I had one in my first (and last, next one will be up soon) reef tank years ago (like 10 years) but he only lived for about 6 months. How long have you had yours and how is the care for it? wesreyn
He is really easy, so far. Ive had him for about 4 months. I feed once a day or every other day. I also offer algae a couple of times a week.

wesreyn
Here are a few of the new zoas/palys I just got in. I got 9 different frags but I suck at taking pictures and these are the only ones I could get a half decent picture of.

wesreyn
Not 100% but I am considering selling this and downsizing for a while. With a new baby and a new business that has really taken off, I dont find myself as interested any more. I will be listing this on the Temple/Killeen Craigslist in the next couple of days. I am not a premium member so I cant list it here. I do have a bunch of zoa/paly and SPS frags that I got since my last update in this thread. Blue Agaves and some other really nice stuff. If interested in any or all, let me know.
mrshall1027
I'd be very interested in your zoas and palys. Can you PM me? I tried PMing you but it wouldn't let me for some reason. If you can't PM, send me an email at [email protected]. Thanks!
