don duncan
I decided to document the evolution of my tanks. All the pitfalls and the joy. So enjoy I decided to get back into the hobby after a 10yr break. Saw a tank at a local shop and knew I had to get back in. For the life of me I cant find a picture of that tank. Guess its because I out grew it in 5 months In Dec 08 I bought a 135 gallon tank from someone who was getting out of the hobby. Looking back at the pictures is sure was ugly. Is that the moon or a fish tank? May 2009. Looking more like a reef tank Well I out grew the tank. What can I say I have an addiction. I next came across a 200 gallon tank in September of 2009 and moved everything from the 135. My first aquascape was super ugly. I dont know what I was thinking Here is what I ended up with Well guess what I out grew that one also. So In October of 2010 I moved to my current tank a 280 gallon AGE tank. Robb in Austin
Hey Don, (I moved this to the tank build thread; I think it's more appropriate here.) I've loosely followed your progress over the last few years, it's nice to see it in pictures. The current system looks awesome! So, when is the 400-500g upgrade coming?! don duncan
updated with par readings Mark was nice enough to come film my tank and do some par readings. Left side with evolution led Center with 15k xm bulb right side with evolution led If you look at the numbers the are slightly higher than a 250 mh bulb. The greatest thing is my electric bill dropped by over $250 per month
