GKarshens
I've already bought my ticket for next year! I just couldn't justify the money to go to Pittsburgh!

+Bmwaaron
Thats great that some people from ARC are going!!! I felt so alone I think maybe we should have a goal to organize the club and possibly make it official by next MACNA.
GKarshens
I started a thread with the link to the site. Maybe we could just use that one. I'll go amend it now.
+Bmwaaron
Ok here it is in action, this is like 5 mins after I installed it so don't expect much skimate yet.. My old skimmer wasn't producing much skim mate the last week or so. It should be a good test of the new skimmer

+Bmwaaron
Ok this morning I noticed allot of foam built up and was about 1/2 way up the collection cup. It obiously overflowed it a little bit. This is about 21 hours in operation.
Headless_donkey
I have some good news and bad news. Bad news is I don't think that skimmer is working on your tank. Good news is I am willing to take the skimmer for you and relieve you of the burden. BTW is that a Red Dragon pump running it?
+Bmwaaron
Why yes that is a Red Dragon running it
mojo
Looks great Aaron, is that a RD4.5 or 6.5? It seems to be doing its job! I just got my RD but I need to find fittings so I can connect the outlet to 1" plumbing, then I'll be set. I ran it in a tub of water just to check it out and it's a quiet beast, eh? +Bmwaaron
Yes Mike I totally agree, One of the reasons I went with this skimmer is the low noise level and very low wattage for its size. As for what size it is I couldnt tell you. But so far after a week running its going great.

+Bmwaaron
I am currently still waiting for parts. I am finishing the lighting setup and the plumbing and sump is next. The Reeflo Baracuda should be here next week so then the plumbing will start. I wanted to have the pump first so when I design the sump I can get an idea of how the pump will sit so I dont have to have any bends to the intake. Here is a pic of the tank on the stand. +Bmwaaron
Yesterday I added a Arrow Crab to the 50 gallon refugium. I wanted to see if it would actually eat bristle worms and possibly Flat worms. This morning when I woke up he did have a bristle worm in his claws.
