cMidd
Anyone know of where to get a heater that would be compatible with Seahorses? The ones I have do not have a gaurs, and my horses will definitely be burned by hitching to them. Anyone have any ideas?
+Melissa
Is it possible to get a larger piece of PVC pipe to put the heater inside of so that it isn't exposed? Maybe the pipe would be too thick to hitch onto.
+dapettit
Any kind of submersible hang on heater will cause problems. I know of some folks who built a "gate" around the heater using mesh to keep their ponies from hitching to their heaters. I don't use one. I keep my house around 72 degrees and pony loves it. I wonder however if the water surrounding the heater inside the PVC might make the heater think the water is hotter than the actual tank is. Just a thought. . . cMidd
True. My house can fluctuate...so the water could get as low as about 68...I have the coldest room in the house. At such low temps I won't be able to keep any corals at all.
Derekreefer
could you put a non-glass heater inside a hang on back filter....like a Penguin or Emperor?

jestep
Not sure what filtration you use, but the hydor inline heaters are awesome. They would need to attach to the return line of something though.
cMidd
I am sump-less in the horse tank. Gah.
+KimP
You can purchase heater guards from seahorsesource or possibly at a LFS, or you can quickly make one out of plastic canvas.
