Daisy82
I have had a flame hawkfish for the last four months, and he's been doing great. Over the last week, though, his color has started to fade. At first I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me because it was so slight, but he's definitely looking faded - sort of a white-ish cast to him. Water checks out fine, no new additions, no changes in his behavior. Only change to the tank is I switched calcium and salt brands in the last month.... Any clues as to what could be causing this? Hamp
It may be its diet. What are you feeding?
Daisy82
mix of flake food, pellets, and mysis shrimp. Occasional krill.
Derek
Mine does that occasionally. He usually does it when sleeping and when stressed. Is anything picking on him?
Timfish
Mine does that too occasionally, sometimes I can say it's from a new addition or something, likely as not I can't figure it out.
Daisy82
Nope, everyone plays nice in my tank. Haven't seen any bullying. My saline did go a little high last week, that's the only other thing I can think of. Seems like every time I look at him his color looks worse! I'm glad to hear that it can happen, though. I hope he's going to make it - I'd hate to lose him. I love his little eyes. They remind me of a chameleon's!
