  1. Thanks for the replies. I didn't realize that the site now logs me off everyday even though it should keep me logged in so I wasn't getting update info.

Of course now he wants an even flashier site. Personally I think it looks great for what his business does.

Chris I don't get "free" trips. I paid over $400 to get the site up and running with 3 years of hosting, plus about 50 hours of building the pages and his constant weekend picture updates. I wouldn't call that free, I'd call that work.

4 trips would just be breaking even. Soon I should break even. But I now have a boat for in bay fishing whenever I want to rent houses in Rockport, which is about once a month. We have an agreement that I get to bring him and his boat with me, and he is updating his sonar software to Port Aransas so we can mark our spots for future reference. It's a win/win for him since he wants to start guiding both in San Antonio and the Coast. I have a phone loaded with GPS marks from several previous guided trips to get us started.

It will tide me over til 2014 when I buy myself a 28-32' fishing cuddy to fish deep sea and be able to stay out overnight. Just started buying myself some Penn Senators to get ready.

  2. Yeah I told him that but he already had a DBA and business cards printed. I couldn't believe we lucked out and got that site, it basically slipped from someones hands right when I looked it up. His DBA is Fish On Guide Service, the site is fishonguideservice"s". How lucky is that?

I almost had him with "www.nomorebankfishing.com"

I've had some people tell me today that they couldn't open the site, are any of you having that problem?

  3. Thanks for the replies so far.

I've done a Google verification and manually uploaded to Google and Bing/Yahoo as well as a search engine crawler.

I will check out getlisted.org right now.

I'm having a hard time getting my friend to understand that it could take a month or so for this site to start listing. Heck it didn't exist before 7:00pm yesterday.

Funkness I'll give you a shout tomorrow.

  4. I spent the weekend dropping pictures and text into a website template and paying to have it hosted. I'm not having any luck at all getting it to pop up on any search engine radars. Can any of you help with this sort of thing? I'd be willing to negotiate for your time. The site is here, http://www.fishonguideservices.com

I know some of you are good at this sort of thing, that's why I'm reaching out to ARC members.

  5. The outer diameter will always be the same. The inner diameter is the only size that changes for different schedules of pipe.

From a professional pipe fitter. IE: I get paid in real money to say things like that.

  6. I've watched a tank be prepped for a professional house bomb, the kind where they tent the house.

They just made a tent for the tank. They took some plastic sheeting and draped it over the tank and down to the floor. It was taped down with duct tape to the the hardwood. For carpets they said they use these long socks that are filled with beans or sand and wrap them around the tank.

Depending upon the duration time, you'd have to leave your lights out and possibly find a way to keep the tank cool, a chiller won't work as the heat from the exhaust will be trapped under the tarp. You might be able to use a drop in chiller if you tape the pass through opening well.

  7. I gotta guy in Hutto.

He is super flaky and a PITA to deal with, but he does awesome work at unbelievable prices. It is a very legit business, even though it does not appear so. they coat items for a few implant makers in town and most every high tech company around.

I want to say the guy's name was Jason. It has been about year since I last spoke to him. He powder coated one of my motorcycle frames.

  8. It's not that the trash can isn't thick enough, it's that the composition degrades quickly leading to disaster.

Oh well, you have a case of the "I'ma do what I wanna do no matter what's" so I'm going to keep my mouth shut, and my decades of experience in the hobby to myself.

  9. I don't have any pictures but we caught them during a MAAST outing about 5 years ago. There are pictures buried on this site and that site. The nudi's live in the sargassum flotsam that rolls in, that's where the angler/frog fish come from. All kinds of triggers and seahorses also come in on that stuff. You can also find seahorses and pipe fish in the salt marshes around the coast in the knee deep water. We floated kayaks and got out a little from land. We were also able to get pipe fish in the surf using our large seine net we took. We gave all the horses and pipe fish to a teacher that was there with us. I finally had to give my trigger away as it was growing fast and eating holes through my other fish. The sargassum nudi's don't make it in the tnak as they seem to need the sagassum to live and I've not met anyone that was capable of keeping the macro alive for any period of time. A sargassum tnak would be awesome.

  10. While I do like Eheim canister filters, most in the hobby won't run one on a reef tnak as they can cause high nitrites if not cleaned often. I wouldn't recommend using a cheap trash can or rubbermaid tub for a sump. While some do, I've seen the damage when they break. They tend to become brittle in a few months and either tear or crack leading to very bad things. For not too much more money, you could have someone like Prof build you a similar sized purpose built sump from acrylic.

  11. On a good day you can come home with lots of pipefish, seahorses, and frogfish (sargassum anglers), triggers, look down fish, sargent major damsels, rock anemones, peppermint shrimp, limpets, chitons, nudibranchs, and more.

  12. I've been tossing saltwater out my front door for years and unfortunately I still have grass.

Who told you it's not ok to pour it down the drain? I'm quite sure your drains are PLASTIC. Unless your house is over 50 years old, you more than likely do not have cast iron soil pipe. Even then, it's not like you are pouring the water in the drains and moving out. Your lines are constantly being flushed clean with the water from your sinks, toilets, and showers. Unless it's just super convenient to drain your tnak through a window or door with a hose, recycle the water through your drains. It's also the responsible choice. By putting the water back into the system, it can be treated and put back into the drinking water.

  13. Jeez, who said I was upset? You said the ones I wanted were claimed by Bio, I said sell em to him.

As stated, I did not hear back from you so I spent my money with Migs and ACFilmz. I ended up with everything I was asking for in your thread.

Again not sure where you got the impression I was pissed, just saying I was out.

    No worries.
