  1. I have another Sherman RBTA for sale. Split over a month ago. Well healed, eating, and probably 6-8 inches across when expanded.

It is ready to go and in quarintine so would like to get rid of ASAP

Will reduce normal selling price to $80.

    Thanks

  2. Quality is not expensive, it is priceless.

    I"m swiping that line! Awesome!

My father in law uses a similar quote:

"quality it remembered long after the price is forgotten"

Both quotes apply well to this hobby.....

  3. @ Tim, I think 14K is a healthy medium between look and growth. I had one on my previous light and liked the spectrum. I'm just looking for cheaper alternatives to paying $60+ for a bulb.

just a suggestion but you might want to rethink the above...

We all know that this is an expensive hobby...but arguably one of the most important aspects of a reef tank is lighting.

$60 is high for a light bulb however the average MH lifespan is 12 months. That is only $5 per month...

There are many ways to save money related to reefkeeping....but for a successful reef tank I think lighting is one area you might want to "splurge" on.

    Just my opinion...

  4. If the anemona is hiding it may be for a good reason. It may be about to split or just need a break. i would leave it be. Mine will retreat to the back of the rock for a few days a month and then return to the front when ready. They will migrate towards the light so if it is staying put in the back then try to shade that area and it should move towards the higher light front area. Once it is in a place that you want it to stay then try to keep light and water currents consistent and feed it a silverside at least weekly..maybe even 2-3 times in a week at first.

  5. I would recommend having someone with saltwater experience check on you tank.

You can have a neighbor check on it and feed the fish daily but I would recommend a "professional" at least once a week. They can clean the skimmer, do a water change, look for potentional problems, etc.

I have used Misti with Sea Clearly maintenance (one of the ARC sponsers) and was very pleased. She would also be available if the neighbor noticed something was wrong. Cheap insurance and peace of mind in my opinion.

  6. Thanks a lot Mark!!!

My phone has been ringing off the hook with agents calling.

I already turned down a role with Angelina Jolie (she is too old)

Just waiting on the right role....

In seriousness...it was a pleasure and I enjoyed seeing the process. Mark is very professional (no casting couches) and there is a lot of time and effort that goes into each one of his videos.

My 6 year old son loves and looks forward to Mark's videos. He has seen almost every one. I still haven't told him that I did the video shoot so I can't wait to see the look on his face tonight when he realizes that "daddy" is in the video.

In his eyes Mark...you are already a legend...

  7. I also was combating what I thought was GHA for several months. Tried Marine SAT, extra snails, 3 days of darkness, extra water changes etc.. without improvement. Water parameters perfect, use RO/DI with 0 TDS.

Asked Mark about it and he recommended raising Mg in case it was Bryopsis. Slowly raised Mg to 1700 over 10 days and within a week of the Mg hitting 1700 I had a pristine tank again. The difference was unbelieveable!

    Just my experience....

  8. These kinds of bags are used for tube feeding and not IV fluids. The tubing is rigid except for a 6 inch section that is soft and designed to go in a "roller" style pump similar to the BRS peristaltic pumps.

These do not come with a flow regulator and may be difficult to fine tune the flow.

  9. All of hydro's recommendations are good.

Hard to tell from the video if it is green hair algae (GHA) or bryopsis.

I battled with what I thought was GHA for several months without success. Tried the same things you have.

mcallahan came over and thought it might be bryopsis (even though it looks more typical of GHA).

Raised my Mg from 1350 to 1600 over a week and it disappeared almost overnight.

  10. That is funny how i am the only one that has a Sherman RBTA that has NOT split!!!! What is the secret do i need to stress him out lmbo he is just a growing but not a splittin!

Not sure what the secret is. I was feeding mine silversides once a week and it split. I got worried that they would outgrow my tank so I stopped feeding them for a few months and they split. They seem to have a mind of their own.

  11. Checking interest for the sale of 2 Sherman Rose Bubble Tip Anemone (RBTA)

These came from Mickeyw43 in Dallas and are very hardy, maintain their bright rose color, and split frequently. Mine have been very happy and have never wandered.

You can do a search for Sherman RBTA for more info.

I have had mine since March and now I have 3.

Serious inquiries only. I will not sell to anyone that has not had their tank up an running for at least 6 months and you must have adequate lighting (MH, T5, VHO, or LED).

    Selling price $100 each
