  1. french bulldogs vary in size. from 18-30lbs. mine is 20 lbs. a very stout 20 lbs. he is full grown. not getting much bigger. his face might get thicker in a year or so though. his sire had a thick face.

it is true that bulldogs do not adapt to extreme climates well. extreme cold can be as much trouble for one , as extreme heat. however, mine are both inside dogs. they both prefer laying in the AC as opposed to laying outside. they get their exercise in the mornings and evenings during the summer. they dont go outside during the heat. you have to be really careful with them because they can overheat in a matter of minutes. luckily they both love to eat ice cubes. bulldogs also come with loads of other possible issues. elongated soft pallets, luxating patellas, hip dysplacia, prone to ear and skin infection( because of folds) chronic allergy ( quite common in bulldogs ), and a whole slew of other stuff. bulldogs have their health issues, but i wouldn't trade them for anything. i'll gladly pay any medical costs for these guys. their personalities and dispositions are what i love. bulldogs are laid back, easy going dogs. besides, look at those sour mugs! how precious! well, to me anyways.

  2. gabe, that is one seriously cute dog. i also have a new addition to my family. we recently adpoted an english bulldog to be friends with our french bulldog.

milo on the left(english bulldog). pudge on the right(french bulldog). here they are soaking up the sun in my computer room. we like to call it, " gettin' some sun-butt."

  4. i am getting mine from RandyO. he posts on reefcentral. i saw an auction on ebay of his and i won that. after i won the auction, i contacted him and asked if he had any other types. he did, and so i got 2 other ones. woohoo!! tomorrow is the big day!

  5. soooo....australian acanthastrea ! i'm sooo excited! i just wanted to share excitement. i should be receiving a shipment tomorrow for some awesome frags!!! i'm just sooooo giddy right now. i'm almost off work, and i can't wait to get home, then eat, then go to sleep, then wake up early and wait expectantly by my door for that nice delivery man!

  6. try poking him. make sure he is alive.

my neighbor discovered one my fish dead the other day. he was over checking out my tank, and the fish was laying against a rock in an odd position. i was in the kitchen making drinks, so i was like, " oh, ' he's ok. he does that. he is just waitin for something to swim by so he can eat it." well, he said, ' i dunno man. can i poke it?" i agreed. and he did. turns out, it was dead. i was sad.

hopefully yours will fair better. see if he is interested in eating some mysis. mine loves it. also, check your parameters.

  7. i use a big rubbermaid tub to mix up the water. put the water in the tub. pour the salt in the water. drop in a power head and let it run overnight to mix up the salt. use a siphon to get water out. use power head and a hose to get new water back in.

  8. i'm looking to sell a ricordea yuma rock. may consider trade for acan lord.

pictures taken under T5s half white, half actinic. purplish/bluish/greenish. some of the polyps have that neato white stripe you see on some yumas. largest polyp is little larger than a quarter.

$70 for the whole rock. has 8-9 polyps.

  9. have you thought about going for predatory fish? i think lionfish are some of the most beautiful marine animals there are. you can get a dwarf species and that would do well in your 40g. also, they are reef safe. possibly, fu manchu lionfish ( also known as Twin Spot or Two Spot lionfish). or a Fuzzy Dwarf Lionfish, or a Dwarf Zebra Lionfish. if you do get lionfish, you are limited to what kind of clean up crew you can have and fish as well. If it looks like it will fit in its mouth, it will try. so cleaner shrimp, ornamental shrimp, and smaller fish usually won't last long in a tank with a lion fish.

** oh, but keep in mind, they are venomous/poisonous. if you get stuck by a spine, then it would be equal to a severe bee/wasp sting. if you do happen to get stung, you should run warm water over the wound to help break down the proteins in the poison so that it dissapates faster. **

  10. is anyone going out to the MAAST meeting? i'm gonna head out there with some frags and hope that i can get some good trades or maybe sell a few.

    i'll be bringing :

    orange flower sponge ( 3" x 3" )

    snake head zoos ( 2 heads )

    greenish brown Cap ( 1"-3")

    orangish/red cap (1" -3")

    green slimer (1"-3")

i might bring some blue/green yuma. i haven't decided yet.

  11. if he has pointy claws, i would bet he is bad. if you don't wanna keep him, you could take him over to river city and drop him in the tank with their peacock mantis shrimp. might make for a lively 2 minutes.
