Mike, you oughta set up a holding tank for all the corals we will buy then not have a place to keep them until we leave.

Speaking of C4, I purchased tickets a couple of months ago. Will they be mailed to me? Sorry to break thread.

I use a very small Tunze pump I got at Aquatec. I would like an inline pump but have not been able to find a small one.

I keep my reservois water in a 5 gallon Lowes bucket under that table next to my tank. My wife has elected to take on the project of finding a something to either put the bucket in or dressing up some other type of container. She does like the gray Lowes bucket better than the flourescent orange Home Depot bucket but feels certain that improvement can be made.

I keep mine in a 7 gallon blue water container in the basement directly below the tank and run the tubing through the floor. My water making station is down there too so no lugging water.
I do wish we had basements in Texas. In my whole life, I have only seen two houses in Texas that had basements.

I need a new topoff and I am considering the Osmolator Nano. It says the limit is 50 gal tank but I am just using it to keep the sump level constant. Do you think Will this work ok?
-
Yes it is.

Alrighty then, Craig's List it is.

I have a 216W 48" T5 light for sale. The brand name is Current and I purchased it at ARC. It is standard black and has 4 54-watt Wave Point bulbs that are less than 2 months old and I have another Wave Point 54-watt actinic that is unused. It also has 4 LED moonlights that come on when it is dark. There are two timers and three switches. I have the feet but no hanging appatus. I am selling it because I replaced it with LED's. It was working just fine when I took it off the tank Sunday afternoon. Anyone interested?

aggiemedic, are your flying fish getting out?

Thanks when the water clears a bit more, I'll get some good pics of the rockscape.

My wife took a bunch of pics with her phone. When she gets home from church, I'll get her upload and post a representative sample.

So far, I am judging the move a limited success. Everything was moved into the new home as of 9:00 pm last night. Today most everything is coming back out. My RBTA seems to be a little unsure but I expect him to explore his new home looking for just the right spot. All of the fish seem to be doing fine. The only fly in the ointment is that my T5 light fixture will not fit in the canopy. Well darn. OMG! I have to buy a new light! Isn't that just awful?

Going to sell your 72?
Yes I am. Still interested? I have the tank, stand, canopy, a 20Gal sump with three chambers. Make me an offer?

I am moving from a 72 Bowfront to a 75 rectangle. I would have liked a 90 but I couldn't find a used one for sale when I needed it. My wife is taking some pictures. I'll post later.
-
Well I am not quite half way there. All of the live stuff is out of the bowfront and in the water trough. I am going to grab a bite to eat and then finish moving the water and get the old one outa here. Then I build the new one using new sand but all of the same rock. **** this is a lot of work but it will be worth it.

Mitch, I was thinking that as well.
Richard, when are you available tomorrow or Friday?

thanks mitch

I am changing tanks this weekend and I need to borrow one or two of those large Brute trash cans to hold water and maybe the fish. I intend to accomplish this in one day so I should only need them for two or three days.
-
Just my luck. Saturday is when I scheduled the switch from my damaged 72 bowfront to the 75 rectangle.

I have a new (to me) tank and I have a question or two before I start the move from my 72 bow to the 75 rectangle.
At one point, there were several people who felt strongly about putting egg crate on the bottom of the tank to help stabilize the rock. I have some egg crate I am not using and I am wondering if I should do this or not?
I thought about trying sliders underneath my stand to see if I can make it at least minimally mobile. It would be nice to be able to paint behind it, if nothing else. Thoughts?
Sand or crushed coral, or a combination? Deep or shallow? Opinions?
I am just trying to rectify some of the regrets I have had with my current setup. I would rather not repeat past mistakes either.
I would appreciate any advice that you can offer on moving fish, corals, etc. to a new(ish) environment.

I got the tank, stand, and canopy home and set up in the garage without a problem. It looks terrific. Thanks Dan!
