  1. I've got about 40 lbs. of HEAVILY encrusted liverock that I need to get rid of right now before it starts to lose it's color! Call me and come pick it up and we can talk about trading later, I don't want this stuff to go white! -Steve (5122) 826-6475

    ocellaris clown

one of my ocellaris just jumped last week and i'd like to replace him. i've got plenty of frags of purple, red, and orange monti caps, i've got quite a few zoas and i have 2 kinds of frogspawn, some regular candy cane coral and some neon green birdsnest. Lemme know if any of that is interesting. -Steve
  3. if no one takes it you might think about donating it to sea world or another aquarium. They are always looking for new additions of larger sizes and you get a tax credit for pretty much any amount you want! Just a thought, I'd hate to see such a lovely organism be reduced to rubble. -Steve
  4. Would like to sell them all 3 for $20. These are easily the biggest I've ever seen and they cleared my tank of all algae within 3 days. They're eating my chaeto now and I need to sell them or trade them. Each is about 2-3" and fill up the palm of my hand. -Steve
  5. im interested in the blastos and maybe some zoos and monti. -steve
  6. Use a fine toothbrush and gently wipe it off.then get some turbo snails and put them on top. Did the trick for me without using chemicals. -Steve
  7. It's a rough decision. I've battled with it also for about 7 or 8 years. When I started building my own tanks and DIY'ing my own equipment it revitalized my interests AND saved me a bunch of money AS WELL AS gave me some really marketable skills (woodworking, plumbing, electrical). You might wanna try going the DIY route for awhile and see if it makes you have more pride in the hobby. Good luck and I feel for ya. -Steve
  8. If you end up fragging it I'd love a couple of heads. Otherwise, it's a beautiful coral and that's a good price! -Steve
  9. Argh! My second frag didn't make it either. Oh well, I agree with Mike that we all got GREAT deals and I am not disappointed. At least we all know how sensitive Oregon Torts are for next time! -Steve
  10. I went back to Brian's today and he was very understanding and gave me a new frag. He told me that he had taken a TON of frags from the colony (about 60) and it was just incredibly stressed out. He also told me that it is an Oregon Tort not a Purple Monster, just FYI. Thanks again Brian! -Steve

    Free BTA

Thanks Jbrougher! He's been acclimating for a few hours now and I have seen movement so he is still alive at least! Hopefully he'll perk up by tomorrow when I put him into the display. Thanks again and if he gets better and ever splits I'll let you know. -Steve
  12. Mine did the exact same thing when I bought it from Brian. All other frags acclimated just fine and they are all doing well. It was just super sensitive I guess and having frags taken from it must have been too stressful. -Steve
  13. Ah great! Thanks for the help guys! I've never seen this coral before. Is it something that folks would be interested in trading or is it just hitchiker trash? -Steve
  14. Yeah, I guess a picture would be nice...Ha!
  15. I can't figure out what this is. It came with some live rock and it broke into quite a few pieces but seems to be doing well. The polyps are more like pointed tentacles not dissimilar to a sebae anemone's tentacles just quite small. They are not flower shaped like monti or acro polyps. Anyone ever seen this? Cuz I sure never have! -Steve PS I'm not quite sure it's Hydnophora since it seems to live comfortably alongside softies and other corals. Some zoas growing next to a frag don't seem to mind it.
  16. Sounds good to me. I won't be able to make it to the meeting tomorrow but how about Sunday? Gimme a call and we can set up a meeting. -Steve
  17. Well, I was hoping to get maybe 3 small frags of diff acros or some decent sized frags of monti's but cash would work too if all else fails. He comes with a Choco star I just bought for him today and I paid $30 when I got him over 2 months ago. He's easily double the size of when I bought him. Really any coral would be fine. I'm just trying to get some new stuff into my barren tank! Haha!
  18. He's quite a bit bigger than the small pistol shrimp I have seen and I wouldn't think he's a threat since it eats totally different food. My sixline has never messed with it either. He's an Asterina eating machine. He rid my 29 of at least 100 stars in less than 3 weeks!
  19. I'm trading my H. Shrimp since he has totally rid my tank of Asterina stars. He/she has molted twice since being in my care. I'd like to trade for frags of some sps if you've got them. Thanks for looking!
  20. BUMP Tank and stand BOTH for $125. CPR for $125 -Steve
  21. Hmm, so quick to turn around for gold...Is there something you know that we don't or are you just being cautious? Nice tank! -Steve
