  1. Yes we did use the carpet movers and they worked great. We had enough people to get the tank tilted without using the hand truck though. Thanks for the help.
  2. Yes they do have skeletons under the soft tissue.
  3. Acans are LPS and are soft if thats what you are asking.
  4. Honestly at that price I would talk to Kingfish or Rivercity aquatics about a AGE tank. Im not sure what the price it but It got to be close or a little more then that and you can get it custom sizes and starfire, then put the overflow where ever you want.
  5. Well your talking about putting saltwater into a machine build for freshwater. I wouldnt trust it. Do you know what the coils are made out of?
  6. No problem James, I know its quite a trip for you anyways.
  7. OK all This should be the last time................ If all goes well I will be moving the new tank to its new home near the stairs this weekend. I have the tile company committed to having the new floor installed by Thursday. This means I have to have the new tank in its spot by Monday so he can tile the other room. This move will just be a move and no livestock, plumbing, or water is involved!!!!! I need enough people to pick the 180 off the stand put it on the ground, then carry the stand into its new home, pick up the tank and place it on the stand. I will try and get a hold of Caferacermike to get the suction cups for the tank move. I would like to shoot for Saturday morning. If anyone is interested please post or let me know. Thanks Aaron
  8. Thanks everyone for the help today. Everything went smooth and so far no losses
  9. Very nice! Cant wait to see it. Who is going to build the tank for you?
  10. I went with Starfire glass for my 200 because I have almost the clarity of Acrylic that wont scratch as easily.
  11. Thanks ckimble. So it looks like we have ckimble starfire Headless donkey tomanero That should be enough to move this thing 12-15 feet. Look forward to seening yall around 10am Sunday. Thanks, Aaron

Thanks for the response Lee, My brother is a Pastor and I know how that scedule works If we need more people Ill let you know, Thanks for the offer. James you know I always look forward to your visits
  13. I was thinking on starting around 10-11 ish. That gives me time to put everything back together after the move and time to deal with any unexpected problems.
  14. Hey guys. I'm going to need some help moving my 90 gallon tank (1/4 full) about 12 feet across the floor. That way I can install the new tile floor and then the new 200 gallon tank. I think Andrew said he was in so if I could get 2 or 3 more people it should be a snap (maybe a poor choice of words when talking about moving a glass tank). I will be draining the tank to a couple inches over the sand bed and removing some of the live rock into some tubs to lighten the load then I'm going to pick up some of those heavy furniture disc to slide under the tank and I hope it will glide across the carpet with not problems. At that point I need to put the rock back in the tank and let it support everything for another 2-3 weeks. I can guarantee that there will be some frags because I always breaks tips when moving rocks in and out of the tank so if you wanted something now would be a good time. Here are some pics of the tank as it sits. Thanks. Aaron
  15. I also may be able to help. Keep us posted on the time.
  16. Karen are you running DE or SE bulbs? If your running DE bulbs I sware by Phoenix 14k but they are only a DE bulb.
  17. Depending on how established the Live rock is and how long it was out of the tank when it was transfered to yours you may not have any measurable cycle. When I started my tank with established live rock I didn't have a spike in anything and I tested everyday. I would not put to much stuff in there until you are sure but don't be surprised if you don't see a noticeable cycle. Think of it as doing a 100% water change. You are going to lose some of the bacteria in the water column but not enough to affect the tank as much as you might think.
  18. No stores in Austin sell Mag flake, The best and cheapest place I have found is Bulkreefsupply.com as mentioned before. As far as Calcium reactor vs dosing 2 part I belive the CA reactor is far better. The CA reactor is going to give you more stable results. And I would dose Magnisum as a 2 part also to give you a more balanced Mg. If you just dose Epson salt you could have a sulfate buildup if your not doing your waterchanges regularly. Its a good idea to follow Randys Mg advise http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2006-07/rhf/index.php
  19. Arrow crabs will eat them even the big ones and they are easy to catch after you have gotten your bristle worm population down. Arrow crabs will eat other desirable things also but like I said they are easy to catch once they have eaten your bristle worms
  20. Nice build, I am also using the Hofer Gurgle Buster. I didnt see the hole drilled in the top of the cap with the 1/4 air tubing. Did you do this step? I have never seen it done without the airline tubbing.
  21. Great you got your new bulb and the Turbos Thats an awsome looking Urchin, were did he come from?
  22. The way I do it is to put one end in the tank and the other end over the air intake tube for the skimmer.
  23. You are all in for a special treat next episode Actually Starfire I did a whole episode with Marc and Evan but it never came out due to HD crash
