Well you've joined a good local forum if you need tips and advice on keeping acros alive, we have some members here who have amazing SPS tanks overflowing with healthy acros!

I will probably have you and Ty both blocking me by the time I get it figured out! 😂

I just noticed you are in Killeen.  I went to high school there but have not been back in nearly 40 years.  Bet it's changed a bunch, but I can't imagine the local fish store options are very good :)

I need to update my profile. I left killeen in 2013 when I got it of the Army. I hate that place! There is one store that carries saltwater stuff plus petco... I now live outside of Salado. Love it out here. We drive into Austin for fish stuff.

Dang, you've got the nicest looking tank in town and you don't even have it stocked yet!

Thank you! Still need to finish up a few things on the equipment side. Still don’t have my ATO going. A few paint/stain touch ups are needed.

As far a livestock goes I can only hope I get half the color and health you got! I’m really wanting this tank to be sps dominant. I have never had any Acros in any of my tanks....

That is not bad for cloudy water.  I didn't rinse my live sand on my current tank, and this is what it looked like for a few days.

The blue/white filter floss helped to clean it up.

Mine wasn’t quite this cloudy. I was clear after the first day or so.

I assume you rinsed your rock and sand??

I did not rinse the sand as it was “live” sand. I did rinse the rock. Everything settled and was clean and clear for a week or so. I woke up one morning and the water was cloudy. I’m running a 3 hour light cycle right now since I have nothing in the tank. Temp and salinity are where they should be.

    Thanks.

The black one in the center is the 1Link for the WAVs, gray one on the right is the Lunar light module  and the small black one is the breakout box that I'll use to control the lights inside the stand.

I thought you could plug the wavs into the eb832?

Well, now that I've got the leak fixed it's time to move on! Got a simple stand built to attach all the controls to and got the return pump connected to the apex and running. Still waiting for the Aquatic Live fixture to be in stock...should be sometime this week!  Hopefully rocks go in tomorrow.

Looking good! What are you using the extra modules for on the apex?

Truly spectacular! What a nice build and that stand is incredible. looking forward to seeing this tank grow out in the future. Awesome work!

Thank you! I will do my est to keep updating along the way!

  9. Playing around with wiring tonight. I got everything on the Apex! It’s all working as it should! I was ready to throw in the towel on the apex.... Their customer service is top notch! Emails and phone calls after business hours!

Now if this cloudy water would go away I would be really happy! I’m pretty sure it’s just a new tank thing? I’ve never used live sand or dry rock until this tank. It must have something to do with it because I’ve never had it happen before....

You guys are killing me with these! Ty are you being facetious? I know this is the easy part... all that really counts is what’s in the tank!

No jokes here, I think reefing is equal parts science and equal parts design. The design part of it was never my forte... Its more like a mad scientist went through my tank setup. So I can appreciate when tank builds of this caliber come together... I'm always envious of the results.

I’m just messing with ya brother! I would be more than happy to help the other red stand guys get hooked up with removable covers!
