  1. Versace, They look great! Where did you get him? I recently got two and really would like to get some more (like I need something else I want more of ). Stephen
  2. I'm looking at it now. He has some very nice stuff. Wish those Yuma's weren't quiet so high Stephen
  3. Aqua sd? Is that local or online? Stephen
  4. Mike, Where did you get them from? Stephen
  5. Are the colors that vibrant in the tank? Where did you get them? I recently got two yuma's that are deep blue with orange polyps. They are the first two yumas (although I have lots of ric's) I have ever had. I really like the yuma's and want to get more. Stephen
  6. Mike, Are #1 and #2 Ricordea's? Stephen
  7. Yes, Kingfish. You should get one so I'm not the only person in Austin with an Elos tank Stephen
  8. Did this get sold? If not, what is the diameter of the cylinders? Stephen
  9. Thanks. This is very interesting. Looking forward to seeing more. Stephen
  10. You might try the feeding, but as Derek says, and I've also confirmed with a coral commercial propagator, they just don't grow very fast. I have about 4 small colonies with the same issue. That is why you don't see aquacultured acans, they are all wild caught. They just don't grow fast enough to make them commercially feasible. Stephen
  11. Also, I'm not challenging, just curious, why you are using horticulture light ballasts? Stephen
  12. Could you further explain the "water-cooled heat exchangers for the lighting"? Stephen
  13. Can the organizer check to see if they still sell the mud? If so I would want a bag or two. I don't think they have them, but if they had any dwarf blue leg hermits I would be interested in a good siae order of that as well (I think the only place I can get those is Reeftopia). Stephen
  14. Cool! Thanks for the update! Stephen
  15. innate, Will the Kalk work on nuisance Paly's as well? I've never found any of the aiptashia remedies that work work totally on the Paly's. They only slow them down for a while. Stephen
  16. The Nerites are known to crawl out of tanks, as I have experienced myself with them. Stephen
  17. I'll follow up in about a month to see how you are liking it. Again, thanks for the info. I'm anxious to try it. Stephen
  18. Good to know Clint. I was disappointed in the tests I got off the NeoSalt I tried. I asked John (Kingfish) about the Tropic Marin stuff just the other day. How long have you been using it? Are you getting the results they advertise (like better polyp extension)? How much did you have to pay for it - I read somewhere its about $100 a bucket. Stephen
  19. That's good to know. Also, gues I was way off on the micron size Next time I'll look it up. Stephen
  20. I use the smallest I could get (10 micron I think). I never washed them when new. I would change them when the flow thru the sock got too restricted. I washed them in the washer using the recommended amount (per the bleach bottle). I would usually put them thru the rinse cycle twice. If you get the ones without the plastic ring, they are much easier to clean and turn inside out for washing. Stephen
  21. I think you did a nice job as well. Looks good! Stephen

    Redbugs

I just had a thought (I know, I scare myself when I do that). Since these are copepods, does having one or more mandarins, or other fish that eat pods, keep them in check? Stephen

    Redbugs

Call Cedar Park Animal Hospital. Explain to the lady there what you need it for. They have in the past sold me the pills 1 or two at a time. I think it was $12.00 a pill (which should be enough for one treatment of the tank). Stephen
  24. Everyone else is probably scratching their head like me. What color was it before this? If I had to guess from the pictures, I would guess either brown slime disease, or the "speckels" are cyno or algae forming over parts that have died. Did you dip it before you put it in your tank? A little more information would be helpful too, like how long have you had it, what kind of lights you have it under, what your alk and other parameters are? It really hard to tell just from the picture. Stephen

Let us know if you find anything else on training them besides the article I mentioned. Stephen
