  1. IMO, you are going to have a hard time running 2 250's on a 65 without a chiller. I tried it with a 55 and it would have boiled without my chiller. even with 4 fans, 2 pointing directly at a turf scrubber.
  2. top pic looks like a colt coral, second star polyps, and the third polythoas or zoanthids. All cool easy starter corals.
  3. Aquscape looks great BTW.
  4. If you are going to get a mandarin, I would wait 6+ months or so and have a healthy fuge with lots of macro. Then seed the tank a couple of times with tigger pods and also make sure you dont have fish that over compete with them for the pods. Also make small piles of live rock in the tank and sump where they are protected from predators. The more established your tank, the better luck you will have. If you still wonder if they will survive, then the answer is probably no. Also watch out for flatworms, they will decimate a pod population. Be patient and keep other fish for a while. Let the mandarin be one of the last things you add.
  5. I would go to Home Depot and get a 3 prong replacement for extention cords. Use the one with a rubber gasket made for external use.
  6. I have about 40 heads of trumpet and 4 large heads of frogspawn. Maybe a frag of hot lava chalice as well. PM if you are interested.
  7. Where did you get your acrylic and weld on?

    Could I ask a favor

I have a few you can have as well.
  9. Hey Mike, I have some stuff to trade for. I am still dealing with some algae, but all the corals are super healthy, and I have some new stuff. PM me if you want to swing by.
  10. nice pics, #1 looks like a hydnopora(sp?) to me.
  11. I think that swithching will deepen the colors in your tank. I would go for it. If you dont like the reaction you get switch back and use them to replace other bulbs.
  12. you might want to see about adjustments that you can make and get a wetter skimmate. I am not familiar with those, so I cant tell you how. Unless its a remora where a rubber band adjusts the height of the collection cup.
  13. pics? I may be interested. also, how old are the bulbs?
  14. I would like to see an eel get its teeth brushed, that has to be quite a sight.
  15. I just put the light on mine and the algae came quick. I dont think you need to seed it.
  16. I think clowns do well in a tank. they dont venture far from their nem in the wild. I think some do better than others. I put a yellow tang in my 55 to help out with the algae and also because I have always wanted one....but I dont the he is very happy. Its only 3", but I think I will try and find him a bigger home soon. If you pay attention to their health and behavior, I think you can decide if they are happy or not. 3 fish in a 90, especially those 3, should be really happy. I would like to load up a 90 with a bunch of small fish one day. I also agree that captive bred is the way to go. They do so much better in captivity. I would like to see a lot more of us try it.
  17. is that like a matt finish?
  18. Well, after trying to catch him all day yesterday, he has cooled out. Maybe it was some kind of mating thing. They have been hanging close to each other all morning today. Man, I thought he was going to kill her the other day. Weird. Her dorsal fin is frayed and a lot shorter than it was, but otherwise she is ok. I guess I will let them be for now. Cant seem to catch them anyways.
  19. I think it is the same as far as male and female go. I bet if you had 2 males you would know it by know. They are really hard to tell apart. Not sure if I can really tell, but the males have a slightly different jawline, I guess because they are mouth brooders.
