I have always owned acrylic tanks as well, can't beat the clarity!! I have always used the white pads designed for acrylic you can get at your LFS. Or you can use the white filter pad material that you buy in bulk. Just be sure never ever use a MAG FLOAT on an Acrylic tank EVER even if it says so (the Green plastic ones). I scratched the crap out of a brand new tank and MAG FLOAT wouldn't even listen to me when I called with the problem, case closed. You will need to clean acrylic tanks more often and be sure to keep sand out of your cleaning pad.

I have over $2200 invested and except for the Tunze pump and controller it is all just a year old. I am asking $1600 for the complete setup.

First of all I think that if you can invest in an actual return pump, you would be happier with the flow rate. I would recomend a quiet one or a mag. The first being inexpensive with low wattage power consumption. Also anywhere you can use y-tees instead of pvc tees would yield more flow. Any questions let me know James

I will be puting up some plans for assembling your own auto top-off for about $40 bucks and for building a Kaulk reactor. The two go great together for keeping your water parameters and calcium at optimum levels. James

In the new Coral mag on the back cover Rio shows that they have come out with a controller for the Seios. I had Michael at AA check on availability and as of right now they are not available. I hate it when a company teases you with a new product, but only to find it is a pic of the prototype. James

Welcome to Austin, The Live Music Capitol Of The World. Just putting my 2 cents in as well. Set up a pump or two in the tank near the top of the water surface to aid in evaporative cooling. that may help as well. James

John, Sounds tasty. I think my tank may be eating better than me. I suggest that we can check out places around town for the best prices on seafood. An idea that I read was to place a sheet of wax paper in the bottom of a cookie sheet and cut out a piece of the white light grid and fill each square with food then freeze and pop out the cubes into a ziploc for storage. What ever kind of steroids are in this stuff is unbelievable. I could acually here the corals singing whaaaaaa!! No kidding. Also I could see this thing growing right in front of my eyes. James
