My opinion would be not much of more blue. Definitely more fluoresce! Why cant you find bulbs for the orbit? Have you checked companies like nano tuners and catalina aquariums? For instance the only 420 bulbs for my lights can only be found at nanotuners.com. I realize yours is bigger but you might be able to find a company that makes what you want. I have not seen a use for 450nm lights yet. Maybe some knower might be able to tell us to why even bother with them

If you want more "flourese" get rid of the 460nm.

Ya, Kinda bummed, but its gonna be 1300 miles and I might be living in a hotel for a few months. Otherwise I wouldnt give it up. Its just starting to really take off. I have a 3.5 gal at work too, that will have some ricordia and zoos in it as well. Will post a list in a week or so when things go definite.

OMG!! Bro that is got to be one of the saddest things ive seen in this hobby. You had such a beautiful display and the money you must have poured into it must have been staggering. Unfortunately I am probably going to have to move. Not really any thing in my tank I cant replace and it is probably just as expensive to ship and store all of my rock/etc... then to try to piece it all out. So is there any desire for the whole shibang? Not any equipment just the stuff. About 30-40# live rock and 30+ frags that are growing into a nice reef. If no interest I will start piecing the stuff out.

I really like my Sieo but I dont think you can put them on wave timers.

Well its what I get for using a "knock off" thermometer. On one of my 3.5 gals I was using a titanium thermometer that I bought from catalina aquariums. I have quite a bit of stuff from them. (I really like their pc lights) This little tank has been looking awesome, thank goodness only had 5 or 6 frags in it. I woke up yesterday and noticed everything had "melted" away. I was bummed, didnt have time so I figured Id check parameters later in the day when I got a chance, figured I screwed up the top off water of something. I reached in to get a large margarita snail that looked like it was still alive and the water felt like it was 110 easy. I couldnt believe it. I guess it got stuck Guess thats another way to "cook" some rock , hehe.

Why do you have to cook off your rock? will the parasites live off of something on the rock if all of the coral is gone?

I know little about these things. I assume you treat all the coral in the QT tank. and with no food, whatever is in the main system will die off?

Man..... that still sounds awfully wacky. I never see anything over 20. I am not sure how good a 50% water change is for a system either IMO. I think you would be better with a couple days of 20-25%. Have you tested your RO water? maybe you got a bad cartridge.

10$ Might be Pom Pom though which most think is a little nicer. Ill see if I can get another good stalk of silver though.

OK I know everyone is sick of this stuff, but I got some growing like crazy. Will sell cheap, give away, or preferably trade for cheap frag. Forgive all of the bubbles, my skimmer is going crazy. I just fraged 4 stalks, should be attached in a couple of days. Also have some pavona (SPS) that has been growing like mad. Hard to tell from the pics. It is Lightbrown/orange with some light green patches, and really hairy 15$ for a 1" frag?

The sump really isn't "for" anything. It is a really convenient place to put all of our "stuff" like skimmers, heaters, top offs, etc..... Keeps the "stuff out of our display. Some also put refugiums down there. It also acts as more volume of water, but with 100g you don't have that worry. Like others state I would just put rock in and let the tank mature a month preferably two. I know that is tough, but you would be amazed at the amount of life that breeds with no preditors in the tank at all. I still would not bother with the skimmer either for a month or so. Just more organics you will pull out of your "cycle". Two months with nothing but water and rock should give you a very stable tank.

How long is it up and running? Is there rock in there or just sand? Whats in the sump? anything or just the skimmer? Some would argue weather or not to even skim while cycling.

Ive been watching this for a while. If I wouldnt wind up in divorce court I's be jumping all over it.
