  2. another tip, which may or may not help you, is using denatured alcohol before wiping your bead. i would use the aforementioned suggestion of using masking tape to lay out your seams. so once you have your tape in place, then go ahead and apply your silicone bead. at this point there is two ways of going about cleaning your bead, you can use a tool or just use your finger. i use my finger but i dont think that wil give you a wide enough bead... anyways, after applying your silicone bead, spray it down with a mist of denatured alcohol before you smooth out your bead. the alcohol will kepp the silicone from sticking to anything that its not already stuck to. not only that but it leaves the bead very smooth and clean looking.

thats my metohd for perfect $20,000.00 stone to stone silicone beads on granite counter tops ;)

    good luck!

  3. well yet again im offering the same three corals up for trade. some neon green GSP (from river city), pink pipe organ (from greenmako) and purple plating montipora. ( from cmanning) the monti is orange right now because its sitting at the bottom of my tank.

make me an offer. its all three pieces in the pic although the zoas in the pic arent part of the package...

  4. what are the exact dimensions of the box you want to add into the sump? if its small enough that your questioning it then ide agree with gaberiel that it probably has no real use. and it wouldnt work as a DSB if you drill holes in the box  cheato is ALWAYS a good idea, i dont care what anybody says! :D

if you can get a 1 gallon jug full of sand to fit into the sump then your good, anything less is probably a waste. you dont have to drill holes in it, just set it in and let water pass over the open top.

did you test the walmart water before adding salt? most test kits will only test in a specific type of water, salt or fresh. if your using a saltwater test kit to test the fresh walmart water you'll get an in-accurate reading. make sure that you mix up a batch of salt water to test if your using a saltwater test kit.

  5. sounds good. im available today if you want to work something out?

the monti is a rich pink. the piece i have for trade however is brownish orange. the piece is not naturally brown, its just that color becasue of where i have it in my tank. if you have it under pc it will turn pink. if you put under metal halides it will turn purple. but i have it sitting in the shade on the bottom of my tank.

  6. over the last 6 months or so my IRA has lost about half of its value :( thats ok though, it'll go back up within the next 18 years i hope :)

thats what i get fort putting my money in high risk accounts. :P

edit: rish inst spelled with an "H" :D

  7. wow man, i didnt relize you had that thing set up already? it huge!

i would try to put those bioballs into a mesh bag to make them easy to remove. your going to want to rinse the detritus out of those things periodically and pulling them out 1 by 1 just makes it that much more grueling! it'll make you want to pass up on regular maintainance which will, in the long run be bad for the tank. that is if you decide to keep them? alot of people will tell you to lose the bioballs becasue they become a nutrient sink, which is bad for keeping SPS. thats why you want to rinse them out every so often. it gets all the organic gunk out of them before it can dissolve into the water column.
