  2. I'd like the birds nest and the warp speed monti. Sent you a PM. Oh, I'd also like to see what the cherry bombs look like...could I get a picture of those?
  3. @mark at least the walk is relatively short

  4. I'll add Canary Wrasse (sometimes mis-named yellow Coris Wrasse) to the list. The one I am referring to is solid yellow in color with a black eye spot on the dorsal fin. Halichoeres chrysus.
  5. I used some corrugated plastic tubing that is with the sump pumps at home depot. It's black and flexible, yet also wide enough for lots of flow. It fits over a standard 1" PVC like most over the tank overflows have. Then clamp in place.
  6. Well, that solves a mystery for me. I was going to ask today what those white round things were all over my glass.
  7. I agree, looks like Pavona to me too. Spreads to anything it can touch, and seems to win many coral battles.
  8. It's only bad when you see the red ones eating the white ones. That's when you know you have a problem.
  9. I know majanos can glow green. Just as much of a pest as aiptasia. If you didn't add it to the tank, and it looks like an anemone, I'd get rid of it.
  10. If you still have the Mag 5, I'll take it. Sending PM
  11. *edit - foot removed from mouth
  12. From what I remember, it is generally a bacterial infection if in both eyes. I had a yellow tang that got it in one eye, I always assumed from bumping rockwork. The fish lived, but it did lose the eye. My father still has the fish, so here's hoping you can treat it.
  13. I believe he means one like an Ozarka bottle.
  14. You still have any of this available?
  15. I got this beautiful specimen from Reeftopia a while back (more than a year, less than 2). It was great for a while, then decided to go on a in the tank tour. Fortunately, until recently, it has avoided most of my corals, choosing to stay near the top of the tank in the plumbing. I changed my bulbs, and the peace was over. Since then, the anemone has moved almost constantly, stinging everything, until it finally settled where you see it in the picture below. There it has stayed (also changed the flow a little). This is a non-hosting anemone, and I still blame it for 2 mystery fish deaths. It is pretty sticky to the touch, about 4" across, lights high light, and is very mobile. So, if you have a tank that is suitable for this nem, let's talk. I'm looking to get $30. Or trade, make an offer just no montipora With flash: Under 20K - those are Kryptonite Candy Canes on the right for reference. send pm or email jalleninaustin at gmail dot com Thanks for looking.
  16. sounds like Mike's (oops sorry caferacermike's ) tank is the best place for her. I wish I could have, but the small copepods seems to have been outcompeted by the larger amphipods. Glad you found a home. Jim
  17. hey Drew, I'd like to get some of the Fire and Ice zoas you mentioned were in your other tanks...assuming they have not been spoken for. And I'd like to get the Pavona colony too. If okay, I can come this weekend. Thanks, Jim
  18. is it strictly a pod eater, or has it adjusted to any other type of food? What type of "pods" do these eat? The tiny ones, or the ones that look like small shrimp running around on their sides? Sorry to be pod ignorant. Jim
  19. I have a 110 (5') lit with 2x250SE halides and 220W VHO Actinic. I did a bulb change in October and increased the number of SPS I have in the system. It seems that the SPS I had before the light change does fine anywhere in the tank, but some other types are suffering in low light. I have been moving many new frags and colonies up higher in my rock work to compensate, but that gives my tank a very unbalanced look. For a tank your size I'd look into the 250DE X 3 with supplimentation. I think (hope) you'd get more penetration to the lower levels of your tank, since the 250DE is closer in comparison to a 400SE (please someone correct me if I am wrong).
  20. yeah, nice an convenient to Aquatek too...they used to be in the same strip center. I picked up 3 of those barrels at the end of the summer, cost me $5 each. I got to pick the ones I wanted from the plethora they had in the alley. Just make sure to really clean them out. Oh, and avoid the ones labeled "Amber"...they just never really get clean
  21. Hey Brian, I got a 55gal drum...you'd be halfway there. If that works for you, let me know and it is yours to use. If you need more, call Austin Homebrew (right down the road from Aquatek) and they sell them anywhere from $5-20 depending on how many they have. My only other offer is an empty 75 gallon Oceanic.
  22. well, I was just looking back at her post, and she said it was 1" glass....that kinda sucks that it was only .5". A little misrepresented, but as long as the quality is there. Again, nice tank!
