  2. YA!!! i got to drive all by myself today..I know its not that big a deal to most but its a milestone for me

  3. Thats cool Will, i thought that u didnt have any kinda filtration on the downpipe, I to use just a plain old plastic mesh style sock so that it catches the big stuff but lets small stuff go. Sorry if i sounded critical, i didnt mean to.
  4. its not that bad unless u open the canopy and try and look at the light. But it is BRIGHT!!!!
  5. well i just recieved this skimmer in hope that it might fit in the back of my biocube. I wont fit. It will fit in the tank but the wife doesnt like it in the display side.I turned it on for maybe 5 minutes to see if it realy worked and it works great, but like i said the wife doesnt like it in the display side. It has a bracket with it to mount it on an aquarium that has a rim around the top. New it sells for $39.99, Im wanting to sell for $30.00. BRAND NEW BASICALLY...Here are details and a link http://www.marinedep...IPSHONW-vi.html

you have a lot I want, but I have to make room!

  9. Wes, 15+ eyes are going for like $60-$90, plus shippn $50. Cherry Corals has 15+ eyes for $60 in the WYSIWYG plus shipping. Id be interested in it but the $ is to much for me. Ive been wanting another favia for awhile, just been looking for the right size and deal.
  10. it will be interesting to see the tansformation. Hopefully the sump doesnt get pilled up with gunk on the bottom due to not having any kinda sock to filter out the big debree. Also the return pumps will eventually take a hit as well gettn build up inside. If regular maitnenance is done on them NO big dealeo. Also if you are running a chiller all the gunk will end up clogging the chiller coils up unless you plan to back flow the chiller every once in awhile. This will be neat to follow.
  11. i would think that it would be nice to throw a daylight in there, but either way you will be fine. The corals need the daylight color to properly grow to there potential IMO.
  12. ya, ive heard that more like $80-$100 is gonna be more along the lines for these. There is alot of discussion going on and HYPE...So that means there gonna bring a pretty pennie. But the are AWESOME!!!
  13. hhhmmm....looks pretty neet. Cant wait to see it with all the good stuff inside.
  14. ya now that will be cool, hinging doors that hinge up. Great idea!!!
  15. i agree with MIKEcaferacer. I just dont wanna chance looseing my SPS cause im lookn for a CHEAP ya to supplement my tank. Let the true chemist that have already tested the stuff do that. I am going to buy techM or cal from a company i trust. To me its just not worth loosing all my livestock. Please dont let me offend you Sara, im not tryn to bash you.
  16. you will probly hv to go with a chiller eventually. If u vent the canopy with fans it will be fine. i know of plenty of PPL that run 2-250s w/o a chiller. PM replied
  17. my brother is a design engineer for a private firm, I can ask him if he could do this in PRO E and he could get down to the exact on everything from sump placement to plumbing. Just need dimensions on equipment with a few pic of them. It would look professional for sure.
  18. I have (2) 250WMH ballasts (M59 style). I also have 2 newbulbs with them (12K) i believe. $100 for all if your interested. LMK PM me
  19. thats what i was think about. looks like a good start to a great project
  20. Dena, if youd like to see what my T5s look like you are more than welcome to come over and take a look, the picture you see is with all the lights i have on. The T5s are on from 12:30-4:30, with the VHOs. Then the 400wMHs come on at 4:30 and all the lights are on then. I may try and take pics of the tank this next week of my light cycle so you can see the difference as the lights turn on. LMK...
  21. all good advice, 1.Bigger is better 2. enough room for equipment 3. enough room for syphon back (although as long as you dont put your return deep into the tank there wont be much syphon back). I always keep my returns as high as possible to eliminate this threat. You can test it once you have the sump installed, just turn off all the equipment and watch the water rise in the sump. If it get to say within 2" of the top of the sump thats cuttn it close. I prefer to have like atleast 3" from top just incase. Also, i'd make just enough room for skimmer to fit and the biggest area to be the refugium, the return side doesnt have to be that big either. Just enough room for the pump.
  22. Dave (PROF) has plenty of dry rock and live rock.
  23. Hey Toxic, i hv 3 of the hocky puck type in my new fixture. its plenty of light. All the way down to the sand bed. The fixture is about 6-8 inches above the tank and the moonlights are anothe 6-8 iches higher so they are probly 12" above the tank and penetrate all the way to the sandbed.
  24. man aint it nice to have a friend let ya borrow his lense!!! Oh and Dave for the camera. I think the Northernlights, tubs, and setosa are great pics for just getting the lense and camera in one day and playn with it for only a few hours. Great pics Mark!!!
