  1. Thanks for the equipment list.

    I'm a bit torn on LEDs (cost to implement and the unknown going forward). I've pretty much ruled out MH (cost to implement, heat and potential need for chiller). I'd really like to keep with T5 but a good 72" fixture doesn't exist anymore that I've found other than used.

  2. Looks great!

    Question (or 3. And I apologize if this has been answered elsewhere.);

    Is it camera angle or does the chamber on the left only have an inch left in it?

    What are you doing for overflow capacity in the event of a power outage? Siphon break way up high on your returns/drains?

  3. The latest FTS!

    Ok. The REAL last FTS. 4/14/14

    Yesterday, 5/9/14, I got a call from SWMBO that she found water on the floor by the tank. No biggie, sometimes Mama Clown or others will splash water onto the floor when feeding.

    Ha!

    Woke up today and found more water on the floor. About a pint. Oops. Initially we thought it was the FW tank but, after a few minutes of digging, we found a leak coming from the bottom front seal of the tank. sad.png Moved all the livestock to 3 Rubbermaid tubs. The giant rock of palys and another with em growing on it are in the tub with the lid on it. I won't shed a tear if they all die off. I did move some stuff to the 20g due to space issues in the tubs.

    The hunt has begun for the replacement. Looking for something in the 6ft/180g size.

  4. Well, this is now a 'something small at home' build.

    Moved the system to home tonight. We'll see what becomes of it. I moved the majority of the livestock into the 75. Left 4 rocks plus the giant zoa rock in there. I moved most of the livestock because I expect a mini cycle due to moving everything and stirring up the sand bed.

    Maybe I'll make it a mini-FOWLR and drop a angler in there. Hmmmmmm. Open to ideas though so if you got em, share em.

  5. Agree, nice pics.

    Re: macro lens. Don't forget about the used market. Also, the 'off brand' lens companies(Sigma, Tamron, Tokina) all make very good macros and are cheaper than Nikon or canon. I grabbed a spotless Sigma 150 a few years ago off Ebay for about 2/3 of MSRP (still wasn't cheap).
