  1. Spent a few hours last night measuring, laying out the design, and cutting standard pvc. Now that my measurements are all set I am installing the purple schedule 80. Looking awesome so far. White pvc for the top section until I make sure I have left overs to replace with purple.
  2. Aaaaaaannd BAAAM! Tank up on the stand. Overflow installed. Sump installed. Tonight i I will cut/glue pvc. Tomorrow, make the bean! (Get supplies first). Long way still to go but it's progress. Love the new tank.
  3. Sooooo..... plan is to move the tank onto the stand tomorrow morning!! So excited. new plumbing, new overflow, new tank. It's everything a man could wish for.
  4. Ok perfect, looking forward to getting this thing up and running! Last batch of fittings and valves are on their way! To this point, my thread may have been a little boring, but I promise tank shots and progress will be made soon!! Stick with it!
  5. Ok sweet, that sounds like a much better option than keeping it 1.5 all the way to the sump. So you are running 1" returns as well? Or did you reduce to 3/4"? Thanks Ty! @Gig 'em @ NDstructible , maybe we dont need to swap out the PVC! lol
  6. Synergy Ghost overflow arrived!!! This is the 20", so its huge, and heavy, and beautiful... Also huge... I was also off on the size of the bulkheads and now need to order 1.5" plumbing. Now that almost everything is here, I will be putting this thing together finally!! Cant wait. Few last minute things I need to order but we should be up and running by end of next week. Fish are happy, but there is a red slime algae breakout that is pretty gnarly. Cant treat while in the trough because it will reduce the oxygen content of the water drastically and I dont want to over-stress my fish. I'll treat first thing in the new tank once I have the sump running and mixing the water well.
  7. Synergy Overflow has shipped! things are progressing... at the speed of USPS...
  8. Just got confirmation that my Synergy Overflow will ship out on Friday! So exciting... In other news, I have a center brace that broke while painting and removing doors etc, so I have a replacement being made right now to put on the stand. Waiting for that to get done before I install it and then put the stand/tank up in the living room. Plumbing has arrived as well. @Gig 'em @ NDstructible and I will then design the sump situation once its all delivered. Excited to see what we can come up with.
  9. Hahaha yes. I will still need to do some cleaning up on the paint job... I need to pick up some paint thinner and clean up some edges too.. I promise it will be neatly done! i mean we can do whatever. I figure we have some time to design it. Maybe we can put it on paper this weekend and I can order the glass. I purchased some panels last time from Binswanger, they seem to be pretty cool.
  10. Plumbing arrived yesterday! Still no word from Synergy Reef on the 20" Shadow build... Hoping that they ship it out early next week but at this rate no idea... For now my fish are just chillin in the trough. Stand will get moved into the living room this weekend courtesy of my muscle @Gig 'em @ NDstructible . Tank will go on top and then we wait for the overflow to do the plumbing. We will probably use the time to make a plan/install the components below. Thinking about building a box for the electronics or getting a water proof one... maybe some cool cable management as well... assuming budget permits! Its already getting tight lol. I think I have volunteered my birthday and christmas already
  11. Paint is almost done, just need to do a better job on the doors.. I also need to order a new piece for the stand, one of the 1x3 pieces between the doors split right at the end.. The wood was WAY too thin due to the hole being drilled at too much of an angle. I will need to hit up the manufacturer for a replacement.
  12. Cant wait to get home and paint this thing... Hopefully I can move the tank onto the stand tomorrow! Shadow Overflow is supposedly going to take 2 weeks to get here...
  13. Looking good John! Colors are beautiful. Your poor fish probably think the GoPro is some sort of alien.. I can hear them now.... "RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!!!!!"
  14. And voila!!! After 2 hours of sanding I ended up with 2 numb hands, swol arms, a runny nose, and dust covered garage. Tomorow, we paint!! By we I mean me and @Gig 'em @ NDstructible , he just doesn't know it yet Jk. You can drink a beer and watch/tell me when I miss a spot.
  15. Sanding time!! Man this is fun... said nobody ever. It's also 100 degrees in my garage.
  16. Hahaha. Well I could run a line to my neighbors sink and not tell them... Would be a shorter distance!
  17. Tank is here!!!! Holes are drilled for a 20" Shadow Overflow which I just ordered... Build to order, takes 2 weeks to make and they charged me $41 for SHIPPING!!! Insane..
  18. Ill probably put mine in the garage as well.. The plan is to at some point move the laundry room into the garage and wall it off. Could stick it in there and make it a fish room as well. Wouldn't be hard to add the AC to the room.
  19. Well dang... (says the guy with his RO reserve currently outside full of about 45 gallons of RO....)
  20. That sounds like a great plan! Is it ok to have the RO reserve tank in the backyard though in the heat and cold winter?
  21. The tank comes with a black back pane Now I just have to see how hard it is to keep clean
  22. Plumbing is ordered, tank should deliver today! Next up is to sand/paint the stand. We had guests in town over this weekend so I wasnt able to get anything done on the stand. Fish are happy in the trough so i have some time
  23. Awesome wife... She called me and was like "I'm at home depot, didn't you say something about needing paint?" Boom. Paint acquired.
