That's a great idea!!

Thanks Justin! Should rule out old lights then, lol...one possibility down, seems like a million others still left!

I'm right there with you!! Really needed some snails too

Fish that are in it: 6 line wrasse, itty bitty oscellaris, lawnmower blenny, and a red firefish. About to add a one spot foxface tonight per someone's recommendations in a previous thread. I feed Arcti-pods or frozen marine cuisine a few times a week. Every now and then I'll squirt some phyto in for the corals. Everyone eats the other stuff. I hear flakes/pellets are cleaner so what would be the best plan?
I just tested the water again tonight and numbers haven't changed. Nitrates and Phosphates are 0, Kh is 6, sp gr is 1.022.
Advice I got from someone else seems to lead to it being leaching from the "used" LR I have? Maybe lights also and new tank syndrome. Or a combo of all. Justin, if you see this, how old were the bulbs in that light when I bought the set up from you a few months ago?
I also started dosing Marine SAT tonight, so we'll see how that goes...
Thanks again for any advice!!

I thought cyano was more red? When I've had it before (years ago in a different tank) it was red. This isn't, but it does act the same. Guess it can be brown too?
Derekreefer- thanks! It's a blasto and one of my fave pieces in there. Would like it more if it weren't currently covered in brown slime

Sounds like a good plan! Thanks

Tank's been up since January 3rd. I had been putting tlc in a couple of times a wk until I ran out last week. Not sure how old the bulbs are. Could that affect any of it? Also, I don't feed frequently, but I've only fed liquid or frozen when I do. Know I need to move to pellets or flake...which works best?

Is he easy to keep? I've got some serious algae he could eat if you still need to get rid of him after noon... Does he eat all kinds of algae or mostly hair?

Yeah, I think it always draws you back, but good luck with the new start I'll take any cuc you have left that hasn't already been claimed...

It sounds like a ton of fun!! If I can get out, I'll try to make it. Have kids that weekend so it may not work...Definitely would be interested if it happens again though!

I'm in the same boat. Parameters are great, but the algae is going nuts. I need more snails for sure!
-
If he doesn't want it, I'll take it.

YEA!!!!

Looked it up, yes marine Sat would be a good idea as would the foxface, so I'm gonna add that if anyone has one of those I'd be interested Those are easier to find at the lfs than the scopas, but if anyone has one they're wanting to get rid of, let me know. Thanks for the suggestions, Stephen!

I haven't tried the SAT, what is it? I was headed to fishy business later this month for a tail spot blenny that I've been waiting for. Maybe he'll have a scopas then too. Didn't think about rabbitfish...reef safe and fairly non-aggressive? I like the foxfaces, was just thinking I couldn't have one for some reason. Maybe still thinking of the smaller tanks I used to have. Yep, it's for the 90. Been using TLC so I think that's helped with a lot of the other kind of junk with new tanks, but the green stuff is growing like crazy. Not to mention the bryopsis that came in on some LR...yuck My lawnmower blenny is in heaven though, lol!!

Ok, now that the kind of tang has been decided on, does anyone have one to sell or has seen one in town anywhere? Got some serious algae growing that I need this fish to come eat, pronto! Thanks

He's out! He's out! He's out!! Yippee!! Boyfriend actually had a genius idea watching then tnt. Nabbed him when he swam into the powerhead that's been in but not on and got him out! He's now waiting in the nano all alone for his punishment... Thanks for all the ideas today. Stephen, I agree that your net idea could be kinda fun, lol!

Hmm...that's a thought too. I have lots of limestone holey rock that I could wash and use as a temporary thing...maybe between that and the coke bottle trap I can catch him today. If that doesn't work, Mark, I'll go ahead and borrow your fish trap and try that. I'll definitely feel the same way when he's gone! Funny thing is- it's my 6 line that I'm trying to save instead of the one I want gone. Not sure why the pseudo has decided to be buddies with my mini-clown though. I was worried about him until i saw them hanging out just now. Weird...
-
Ok, help! What's the easiest way to catch this evil pseudochromis? I may end up taking all the rock out to catch him...
-
Yeah, the cold didn't help. I saw lots of people standing around or going in, but I didn't get out of my car until I saw him pull up and then I ran right back to mine. No standing around tonight
