  1. I keep posting things and they keep getting answered before I post.... making it look like I don't read the posts...
  2. My question was answered about shipping, I feel that it should not be counted as well! Should it be a year long process? I think the 1 yr mark is a pretty big accomplishment (I haven't made it myself), and that it would be awesome to see the original pics vs. the 1 yr mark pics!
  3. I'm in!! Was going to set one up after Christmas anyways, but now I have a legitimate reason!!!! Does shipping count with things like coral/fish limits? I assume not, just verifying.
  4. Is this still happening? I would really like to get in on the 10.31% off!
  5. Awesome!! In my MIS class we just built a site and after completing that assignment I wanted to build my own site to document everything!! Wish I had more time... Also, AWESOME site!!
  6. I use the red sea kits for cal, alk, mag, and nitrates. I will be getting a hanna checker for phosphates.
  7. im good for another $140. order is monday right?
  8. Do you have to be 21...? Cuz I love free beer and talking reef...
  9. Nice!! I really like these tanks and have been considering adding a 4g or 8g to my room.
  10. It's workin' great!!! Thanks again!
  11. Should be up in the next few days, pickin up the overflow tomorrow!
  12. Very nice Adam!! The stand looks great! Thanks again for the ac70, its workin like a champ.
  13. Ok, makes sense. Im sorry, I dont get this.. I would want the water level to only be 3-4" ?
  14. The plan is actually a 10g sump with a 20g display.. sry for the confusion. Thats what I was thinking. I plan on keeping the flow around 300-500gph through the sump. Then adding an MP10WES for flow in the display. So the size of the bulkhead is what decides the flow to the sump, correct? So if the gph to the sump is 300gph (not sure if that is it, just using as ex. ), would I need a pump that can push 300gph up to the display? or would i need more or less? Not sure of the physics behind that..
  15. I was looking at the HOB overflows until I found this tank that was drilled. Should I just build one out of black acrylic myself? How do you calculate GPH when you build your own? and is there someone I can take the acrylic to to have them cut the teeth?
  16. I will probably end up trying to make my own. It will just depend on how the tank is set up currently. As far as flow, I have 2 koralia nanos, 1 @ 240 gph and 1 @ 425 gph. I will probably upgrade them to a vortech mp10wes, so flow in the display isnt a problem. If I set it up for 300gph overflow/drain would I need something that is more, the same, or less for the return?
  17. So this is all very foreign to me.. I am going to be adding a sump to my system in the next few months. I started looking around for different options and have decided I want to use the 10g I have as my sump and just add baffles. I was thinking of a simple sump with two chambers. The first one holds the protein skimmer and the pump and return for the biopellet reactor and then a bubble trap to the return. What do yall think? I am also having issues finding an intank overflow box (is there a magical store that sells them? or do most people just make them?). I am getting a 20g drilled with bulk heads (not sure of exact setup or if it includes an overflow box). Also I have no clue what I need as far as return pump size vs. the amout that is drained from the display. I am planning on buying the biggest skimmer that will fit in the sump, would the amount that is pulls in change anything? Sorry for so many questions. Also I am very open to any articles on these subjects. Joshua
  18. Good luck! I know what you mean. After a few months into this hobby I started to look at my things differently.. like I wonder what all i could sell to raise enough for that LED fixture...? lol
  19. Here are some, the duncans are really that white. and the lobo is usually bright red with a deep green center.. Yeah.. just kinda sucks that if i had done more research then i probably could of avoided this. Just going to trying and look on the bright side.. the clam i bought 4 days before i killed my tank, is still out and does not look to have lost any color and is looking better than he did when i got him, also my blastos are looking great and a lot of my zoos are looking much better... oh the irony. and also a few other misc. pieces look to have not been affected. Time will tell. Any recommendations on what to put in my tank now... Im scared to even put food in....
  20. Yeah, i treated the whole tank.. i was having issues with zoos that were on my base rock. Really a stupid move on my part.
  21. ITS GETTING WORSE!! I have drastically reduced the lighting and over the past few days everything is getting significantly worse!! Is it a lack of light?? I really don't want to lose everything in my tank....
  22. yeah, i reduced them back from 25% to 10-15%
