  2. What: Drink Like a Fish Happy Hour When: Jan 24 7pm-10pm Where: Opal Divines- Marina Who: everyone Why: fish 'n beer https://www.facebook.com/events/119718614863900/ (RSVP is not required, it is just to help us estimate the head count) We're back for the new year! Join the FG Austin team once again for a night of drinks and fishy conversation at Opal Divines- Marina (next to Fry's off Parmer). Gill Murray is coming along too, so be sure to stop by and wave a fin at him. Same format as usual, we'll have an open tab for our guests, so bring anyone and everyone you think would be interes
  3. The Butterfly Bar on the eastside has been very good to us. But #gillmurray can sit still, because he is a fish. Where would y'all like to see the next Drink Like a Fish happy hour? Somewhere local is preferable, with lots of room and reasonable prices. Someone suggested Brick House, and Flying Saucer. If you have a good suggestion, or have a connection somewhere let me know! The general consensus was to have it up north. We can do a south one sometime but the southies will have to speak up! Where should Gill Murray go next?
  4. The next Drink Like a Fish Happy Hour has been announced. It will be Saturday the 17th at 1:30pm at Thirsty Planet Brewery! We will have our usual social. Tour the brewery and get three free pints of beer in the tasting room along with an included souvenir glass. First 15 people to rsvp on facebook get their ticket covered by Fish Gallery. If you aren't one of the first 15, rsvp anyway. If someone cancels, you're in for free. If not the beer is only $7 and the tour is free. I know we talked about north Austin but this offer was too cool to pass up. We'll return north in December. Please RSVP
  5. The next Fish Gallery, Drink Like a Fish social will be next week on Thursday October 25 at Butterfly Bar on Manor Rd. on the eastside. We want to introduce everyone to Gill Murray our frontosa cichlid tank that is touring Austin. After this the socials will be at different bars. So if you have a contact with a bar you think would be good let me know and we'll work that out for November. Like last time, tallboys are on the Fish Gallery tab. Bring your pictures and a maybe an uninitiated friend who wants is getting interested in aquariums. What: Fish Gallery, Drink Like a Fish Social When: T
  6. On behalf of Fish Gallery this weekend I redid the aquarium at Rio Rita over on E. 6th. The tank is completely enclosed in a wall so no room for external filters. 55gal standard. Goldfish right now. The filtration was lacking and the deco was also. I had my friend is who a videogame artist from (http://amandawilliamsart.com) design the tank. I wanted to see what a non-fish person would do when challenged with aquascaping. I think the results are very cool. We are calling it Fish Henge and 2001: A Fish Odyssey.
  7. I thought y'all might dig this. I set-up this tank at Butterfly Bar in east Austin. It is part of a promotional tank tour I am doing with Fish Gallery for the new Austin store. I just set it up so it is cloudy and the fish is still freaked out. It is such a nice specimen. I sorta want him when the tour is over. We named him Gill Murray. It is a 47 tall. I am really happy with the rock work. This tank is going to be set up wherever we have our meetups. I'll try to post some better pictures once the water clears up and he acclimates a little more.
