  10. have to admit. Takes some balls to try on a RBTA. Of course if you could do it right that would be awesome because of the size control.
  11. it is possible to split them. You make two cuts with a scalpel from the mouth out so you have two mirrored pieces split down the mouth when you are done. Cut along one of the body sections. I would go buy a condy and practice on him first. You will need MAD flow over the anemone after you cut as it will produce a lot of slime. Of course put both pieces back in the same tank they came from when done. The chances of infection setting in and death are pretty high. Only attempt on very healthy specimens. GL
  12. oh I am prob going to scare everyone off with this but you gots to know. If the sea apple dies in your tank and its under 50 gal. It will release poison as it rots and will prob nuke your fish etc. The take a long time to die and will only do so if severely neglected. Much like all cucumbers.
  13. Hi I have a Sea apple for trade. I don't have the tank to handle him. He needs a tank that consistently gets fed phytoplankton or he will slowly die. Heck, if you have a really nice tank I will give him to you for free. A zoo or something would be nice... Let me know guys. Nick

  16. 4 frags available 3". $25 dollars, will also consider trades for other nice SPS or exotic LPS. Central Austin. Actual mother colony shot under actinics Green Birds Nest Coral is also referred to as Seriatopora Bird's Nest, Needle, Finger, or Brush Coral. It is a small polyp stony (SPS) coral with very delicate, thin branches and neon green polyps. This variation of the Bird's Nest is yellow/green in coloration with bright neon green polyps. The Green Birds Nest Coral requires both moderate lighting and intermittent water current to maintain its bright colors. For continued good health, it will also require the addition of calcium, strontium, and other trace elements to the water. They will thrive in a variety of lighting conditions, ranging from power compacts, VHO, T-5's up to the more intense metal halides. Alter their position in the aquarium depending on the lighting, and provide at least 3 watts per gallon using one of the lighting systems mentioned above. The symbiotic algae zooxanthellae are hosted within its body, so it receives the majority of its nutritional requirements from photosynthesis. While it does not require additional food to maintain its health in the reef aquarium, it will feed on micro-plankton or foods designed for filter feeding invertebrates. The Green Birds Nest Coral frags are mounted on a composite plug that can be affixed to live rock anywhere in the aquarium with gel super glue or epoxy. 19. to give you hope, I have recovered a coral from brown jelly before. Never seen a SPS get it but eh. Gently remove the brown tissue and rinse with tank water then dip it in lugols at three times the recommended dose in a small container. I would often drip the iodine straight on to the damaged tissue out of the water then let it sit in a dip. Be aggressive with your treatments. Also dose a water soluble antibiotic at that point. Place coral back in tank and of course do not put the treated water back in the tank. Don't be stingy on using a lot of water as well. I did it everyday for a week to save my gonipora that had BJD.
  20. good old branching xenia does well as well.
