  1. Hellllll no. I was having a hard time sleeping a week or two ago and was flipping through the channels on tv. Rattlesnake Republic on Animal Planet was in the middle of a marathon and I stayed up practically all night watching it. I'm now too paranoid for my own good. My mother found a 6' long snake skin on her front porch yesterday. I'm constantly on the lookout now, haha

  2. My wife has been wanting to go to SeaWorld, and I think behind-the-scenes passes would be enough for my lazy *** to actually get up and go! It would be her and I only. She will be in Dallas for five days somewhere towards the beginning of the month (encompassing a weekend), so mid- to later-month would work best for us, although I'm sure we could swing it either way.

EDIT: You know what, you could potentially put us down for five. My cousin lives around the corner from Sea World, and I'm sure he and his family would love to see behind the scenes. I would just have to run it by him once a date is settled on.

  3. So I'm finally getting around to actually ordering new bulbs. I was going to go with (in order): ATI Blue Plus, ATI Purple Plus, KZ New Gen, and ATI Blue Plus. I wanted to get everything on BRS in order to start a group buy that a few other members were interested in. However, BRS only has KZ Fiji Purple instead of the New Gen. Does anyone know if these are similar, or would it be a totally different color?

  4. Mike - they are hosting in a GHA infested colony of Fairy Dust Palys. I didn't consider possible stings. They didnt have those spots until they decided to start living in there just a couple months ago.

Dave - I was feeding Hikari frozen foods for awhile and have since cut back to pellets to help with my GHA issue. The clowns are my only fish not interested in nori, but I'll keep that in mind. Thanks for the advice.

  5. I have a pair of very healthy Ocellaris Clownfish that have been in the tank for a year this month. They were very small juveniles when I first got them from the Dome, and have grown substantially over the past year with an obvious male/female pairing taking place only a couple months after getting them. I noticed two TINY black spots on the female about a month or two ago and didn't think anything of it. I just took a close look again and have noticed more of the black spots only on the right side of her body, although they have all stayed extremely small. My male has gotten a couple of them, as well, also on the right side of his body.

Does anyone know anything about this? Should I be concerned?

    Thanks in advance,

    Caleb

  6. Shortly after I started keeping a saltwater tank around this time last year, I read a thread on the consequences of improperly disposing saltwater. Of course, you don't want to dump it down a drain in the house due to rust. I was dumping my water change water out in the backyard until someone mentioned that it could kill the grass and whatever other plants were out there. Since then, I've been dumping my water over the fence into my neighbor's yard. That house has been under foreclosure since we moved here 13 months ago and the weeds are insane (I'm 6'3" and some weeds in that backyard are as tall as me). So I figured it would probably do some good to take care of the weeds close to my fence-line, which it has.

    ANYWAYS...

Since foundations on homes need proper moisture levels, I was wondering if dumping my used saltwater might have any negative effects on the slab. The dogs have tamped down the grass along the house anyways with their trails, so I'm not worried about killing it. Just wondering if that would be a viable solution, and if anyone had any input. Lifting 6 gallons of saltwater over my head once, sometimes twice, a week is getting old.

    Thanks in advance,

    Caleb

  7. I also just want to throw out there to keep in mind that stone will get HOT in the summer, if it's on an uncovered patio. I was going to lay some slate tile underneath a pergola in my backyard until a buddy of mine pointed that out. I hadn't even considered that until then.

  8. Thanks, guys. And a huge thanks to Mike. By the way, this chair will look nothing like the picture when all is said and done. Mike mentioned there will be an ARC-related surprise, plus I have a few other tricks up my sleeve. This chair will easily retail for $350 if you bought at a big box store when I'm through with it, if not more. Come out to the frag swap and buy yourselves some raffle tickets - 100% of the proceeds from the raffle with go to ARC, so let's show Mike how much we appreciate what he has done and will continue to do in the future.

Thanks for all of y'all's support in my new business venture!
