That's terrible. I've had dogs my entire life and can't imagine ever not having at least one. But deaths and old age are so hard. When my mother put down our last dog (chocolate lab named Snickers, mother of the Parvo litter, whom we had had since I was 7), she called me crying saying it was like putting down one of her own children. She had severe hip dysplasia and got to where she couldn't even lift her back legs to walk anymore. Best and smartest dog we ever had.
Anyways, sorry for the sob stories, haha. I'll let the thread get back on topic. I'm sorry to hear about your losses

lost a pup to Parvo last week that I helped rescue.
Man... Know what you mean, Dena. We lost an entire litter of pups (9 Labs) when I was younger to Parvo. We sold one of the puppies to a family friend, he broke his leg somehow, they didn't want to pay the vet bills, so they gave him back to us. They failed to tell us truthfully that he hadn't had his Parvo vaccines yet and when he came back to us, he brought the virus with him. The other pups hadn't had their vaccinations yet, so needless to say, we lost all 9. We did everything we could and racked up a giant vet bill, but it was useless. Absolutely devastating to watch a helpless animal completely deteriorate and not be able to do anything about it. Especially having to watch that nine times...
I know how you feel. Stay strong!

can't believe no action on them.
I would if I weren't worried about my GHA killing them. But its finally getting under control and I got my truck paid off two months ago, so... Good news for you!

I'll take the powerheads if you decide to part out. I know you said you're not interested at this time, but just throwing it out there.

ID?
in Reef Keeping
I was thinking sponge, as well, but didn't have any experience. They are all over my tank all of a sudden.

I'm aware of the severe GHA, by the way. It's actually getting better for the first time in months!

This thing has been growing on my zoa colony for the past week and has gotten fairly big quick. There are similar looking things growing in other areas of the tank and it has only been over this past week or so. Nothing has changed in the tank other than introducing some SeaChem Phosguard in a mesh bag into the DT for about a month. I have since stopped the Phosguard because it doesn't seem to be doing much. Anyone have any idea what this thing is? Should I be concerned?
Thanks in advance

Happy birthday, buddy!

I'm interested in the tank if it becomes available again

I voted Papua New Guinea, although I'd be happy to donate regardless of who wins

bump... anyone?

River City Aquatics off 183 and Aquadome down south are my two favorites.

Happy bday! Thanks for all you do for the club

Forgot to mention i also have 3 years' experience in small engine repair. I'm also willing to do odd jobs; mowing, running errands, whatever. I'm just getting bored.

I am looking for part time work in the Buda/Kyle/South Austin area. I currently only work 2 and a half days a week and I'm just flat out getting bored. My two and a half days gets me my 40 hours a week that I need for bills and groceries, so money isn't a huge issue, although it'd be nice to have some more income.
If you or anyone you know is looking for some help on Mondays and Wednesdays, please let me know. I have extensive experience in home health care, retail sales, and restaurant work. I'm willing to do just about anything. I have reliable transportation, excellent verbal and writing skills, am very friendly and personable, and always maintain the highest level of professionalism. Like I said, money isn't a big deal, but I'm a hard worker and I know what I'm worth. I have a professional resume available upon request.
Thanks, guys

Been working at Dell for 13 years. Don't see 14 though. Well maybe, just because I'll hit 14yrs in Oct. Need a career change. Waiting for a package for my hard work I've put in, then I'm out.
Hey! That's where my mother works. Marketing, I believe.

Buda is booming right now. Our house got appraised $20,000 over what we paid for it just one year ago, and its only gonna go up. Now is the time to buy, IMO
-
I've heard of it, but have never really researched it. Is it literally vodka that is being put into the tank?

I picked up a longspine and a tuxedo from Aquadome today. They're both small, but the tuxedo is already beasting the algae!

Tell me about it... I lost a $90 Sunny D frag and a Purple Hornet frag that way. Of course, they both landed face down into the sand where I couldnt get to them without tearing the tank completely apart. Thats also where fish like to die. It's like the the elephant graveyard from Lion King.

they will pick up anything they want though as far as rubble and frags go though
Yeah, I totally forgot about that. That was another thing that annoyed me...

I want to go just to drool. My tank isn't coral friendly at the moment
-
It's on rock, glass, AND corals. My problem with the Sea Hares is that once the algae is gone, I gotta get rid of them. I'm almost positive it's the phosphates in my water.

I had a Tuxedo Urchin as one of the original members of my tank when I started it about a year ago. I got rid of him because he was knocking over my frags and I got tired of sticking my arm in the tank every single day to put them back where I wanted them. As soon as he was gone I had a MASSIVE GHA outbreak that still has not subsided. I've tried Sea Hares, but it has proven to be only a temporary solution. My GHA struggles are well-documented here and a lot of you guys have given me invaluable advice, even offering to let me borrow equipment to see if it works (which I am greatly appreciative of). But I was wondering if the Tuxedo Urchin would munch on the GHA? I really don't have any frags for one to knock over anymore - that's how bad my GHA has gotten.
I'm not really looking for any alternative advice. While I do appreciate it, just trust me on this one - I've heard just about every solution out there. I don't really have the money for pricey reactors and media to go in them at this time. I simply want to know if anyone has had similar experiences with these Tuxedos as they have had with Sea Hares. Thanks in advance!
