  6. AquaC Remora Protein Skimmer #2 & IceCap fans have Sold.
  7. Sold. Thanks Hamp, hope they enjoy their new home!
  8. Goby is ~2" long. Shrimp is approx 1"-1.25" They're probably not the best tankmates with a dwarf lion (it might consider them delicious snacks)
  9. I hate to let these guys go, but I am breaking down their dedicated 5.5 gallon tank. Very cute to see them interact with each other! Shrimp is constantly improving on his tunnels, and goby is always keeping a vigilant eye for curious humans. The goby is definitely not shy, he'll actually swim up to the surface to eat pellet food when it's dinnertime. $50 for the pair.

Much like a SCWD, but it's guaranteed to switch flows from one outlet to another. Retails for $190. $100 -- AquaC Remora Protein Skimmer #1 (2.75"L x 6"W x 17.5"H) *** INCLUDES Maxijet 1200 pump. Cleaned & ready to go!! *** Bought this off a San Antonio saltwater aquarist on MAAST.org (purplesprite) on 8/06. I received it w/o an O-ring around the skimmer cup (to adjust if you wanted wet or dry skim) and a few bumps & dings on exterior & skimmate collection cup. However, w/ help from a local Austinite aquarist (headless_donkey), we fixed it with good ole' fashion TLC, Weld-On, and silicone. Worked great when I had it on my 5.5 gallon nano SW aquarium. $115 -- AquaC Remora Protein Skimmer #2 (2.75"L x 6"W x 17.5"H) *** INCLUDES NEW Maxijet 1200 pump (still in the box). Cleaned & ready to go!! *** Bought new off MarineDepot. In absolute perfect condition. Worked great on my 15 gallon nano SW aquarium. Metal Halide bulbs also included.*** Black fixture with 2 x 250w Metal Halides & 2 x 39w T5s perfect for Freshwater planted or Reef Aquariums w/ light-loving SPS, LPS. Cleaned & ready to go!! *** 17 gallon sump/refugium with integrated protein skimmer. Recommended for tank sizes up to 120 gallons. 12. Gotta agree with the others that a yashia haze & pistol shrimp combo is an awesome sight to behold. There's also the orange stripe shrimp goby (A. randalli) and the Tangaroa Goby which have great personalities too.
  13. Caesar777 on nano-reef.com had one in her mid-size nano. From some of her posts, she says that they are highly secretive and hides 99% of the time. It is a beautiful goby though... but price vs. how often you will see this goby, it might be a better to look at other (more social) gobies.
  14. Definitely another reason why all coral should be quarantined before it is added into one's show tank. Learned the hard way a while back about the pests and why QT tanks are essential in our hobby.
  15. Wow, thanks for the nomination Andrew.
  16. Headless donkey is your guy -- he's got tons from his seahorse tank!
  17. I found this link to be very helpful when I was first looking at MH's (the halides section is halfway down the webpage). http://www.californiareefs.com/tanktechlighting.htm
  18. I love that site! Got a great deal on a Dyson vacuum last time
  19. Clownfishes don't need anemones to be happy at all. I have one (not a tomato), but he happily nestles in with my frogspawn corals. Here's some nighttime shots of him in the froggy!
  20. Once the mouth or foot starts falling apart, you can tell the anemone will be a goner. Better get it out of your tank before it causes an ammonia spike. I've found this site to be really useful... it even has pics of dying BTA's. http://www.karensroseanemones.com/thedyingrose.htm
  21. PS: From what I understand, a sump is just a place to hide all the equipment so that everything is out of the main display tank. Refugium provides a safe place for creatures to reproduce (copepods, amphipods) that would normally be preyed on. Also where nutrient export via macroalgae, sponges, filterfeeders, ect. That said, sometimes people combine the duties of a refugium and a sump into one by sectioning off different sections for it.
  22. It doesn't sound like a good mix putting an aggressive fish with a more timid mandarin goby. Even though it might be in a bigger tank, I'm sure they are bound to run into one another while they are searching for food. If it doesn't work out with keeping the both of them together, as Entropy stated, are you prepared to remove all the rockwork just to catch the spotted goby?
