I leave mine on a reverse cycle mostly for heat management. I have a 150W MH shop light growing the macro and those halides get pretty warm. The eat is not a problem in the winter but in the summer I have to keep an eye on my power draw or else I'm going to have to buy a big, expensive chiller. crybaby2.gif

The little "iceprobe" mini-chillers seem to be custom made for a nano-cube and should help out with heat issues. I've never seen one myself (except on-line photos) but it seems like it would be just the thing with a two-stage temp controller on a mini-cube. Any nano-cubers out there with one?

I've used a UV sterilizer successfully in a freshwater tank to reduce algae. It really is best to attack it on mulitple fronts simultaneously though. Adding some phosphate reducing material to the tank does help quite a bit. The Phosguard stuff works pretty well but it is a bit pricey.
