  1. I bought this tank and light 4 years ago to use a hospital tank but never used it any of it. Just add a sponge block from an established system to the Powersweep and a heater and you're ready to go. Great hospital tank or starter set-up for a kid or someone new to the hobby. Tetra 20G Tall aquarium ($35 Petsmart) Current USA 24" fixture with unused 65W Compact Florescent light (mixed daylight/blue) with a separate moon-light LED (these fixtures have been phased out in favor of LEDs but they still work just fine for growing softies and most LPS) Powersweep rotating head pump from Zoomed (270 gph) brand new in box ($60 on Amazon) $60 for everything I live in NW Austin (Jollyville)
  2. AquaMaxx ConeS CO-1 In-Sump Protein Skimmer - 4 years old & runs like a champ. Rated fort 175 gallons (light bio-load) / 90 gallons heavy bio-load - $110 I live in NW Austin
  3. Tunze Comline Wavebox (smaller version) model 6208 with 7092 controller - All cleaned up, works great. $150 $110 Tunze 1073.050 Silence Electronic Controllable Return Pump with 7092 controller - Best return pump I've ever owned. Quiet, great flow, doesn't transfer much heat to the tank. - $100 $75 pics can be provided on request

  5. I have had a couple of nibbles but the tank is still for sale. It's cleaned up (mostly) and ready for a new home. All three heavy duty bulkheads look like they are in good shape and reusable to me. 65 Gallon Reef Tank (48x18x17 tall) and stand - 12mm Starfire glass on front and both sides (this is the next size thickness up over specification for dimensions.) Back is painted black. 12: overflow in back left corner. Plumbed for 2 x 1 1/4" drains and one 3/4" return. There are no chips or scratches that I see on it. All bulkheads and durso overflow plumbing included. SOLD 50 gallon sump (48x18x13 tall). Three chambers. Baffle height is 9". I grow tons of chaeto in this. SOLD + an inexpensive, open metal stand The tank is 4 years old
  6. Everything is sold. Thanks for looking.
  7. I have had this tank for about 4 years and haven't done much with it. The wife wants it out of the guest room. I'm just going to part everything out: first come first served. I'm willing to take offers on bundles. I live in NW Austin (Jollyville.) I will ship any of the smaller pieces if you like (actual postage will be added to the cost.) Please let me know if you have any questions. NO aptasia, no valonia, no algae issues, and no other pests to the best of my knowledge in the tank. 65 Gallon Reef Tank (48x18x17 tall) and stand - 12mm Starfire glass on front and both sides (this is the next size thickness up over specification for dimensions.) I'll include the refugium LED lights (9 x cree daylight LEDs - no controller) $80 48" LED Aquarium lights: 48 Cree LEDs with individual reflectors mounted on two separate 48x1x1 black aluminum heat sinks. 12 deep blue, 12 UV, 24 white. Storm LED controller (all 4 channels are fully independently controllable) and power supply included. Plenty of light for softies and LPS higher in the tank. Could also be a great supplement to pendant lights - $100 - SOLD pending funds to Isaac) Tunze Comline Wavebox (smaller version) model 6208 with 7092 controller - All cleaned up, works great. $150 Tunze 1073.050 Silence Electronic Controllable Return Pump with 7092 controller - Best return pump I've ever owned. Quiet, great flow, doesn't transfer much heat to the tank. - $100 Tunze Turbelle 6105 Stream NO CONTROLLER. Completely silent, tons of flow, fully controllable. (Note that I am not including a controller with this unit and you need a controller in order to operate this pump - you can use the 7092 controller to drive two pumps) - $100 Aquamaxx Cone-S CO-1 internal skimmer - These are really fantastic in-sump skimmers. Works great. $125 Live rock - 3 big pieces pictured. No aptasia, valonia, or other pests. Some zoanthids and palys on the rocks. These were some primo pieces from Marco Rocks four years ago, now they are clean, fully cured live rock. Not sure of the exact weight - maybe around 40 lbs? $2 per lb.
  8. The light set that you have should be good for a while if you're just starting up the tank IMHO. You should be able to grow softies / LPS / and SPS near the top of the tank. For a 24" deep tank the 250W MH are preferred but not necessary to have a nice aquarium, you just need to structure evrything according to its lighting needs in your tank. I'm not sure who told you that you need 3 x 250 MH for that tank but personally I think that 3 of them would be overkill. 2 x 250's (I like 14K myself) with good reflectors (I like the lumenarc 3s) plus maybe a few LEDs for moonlight would be more than adequate for anything in a tank that size IMPE.

    RBTA clone

Sold. Thanks for the interest. In answer to your question, both halves are about 5" across. This one has been a pretty good splitter for me over the years, this is about the 4th clone or so that has spawned on its own.

    RBTA clone

My rose bubble tip just split last night and the clone is ready for a new home. I can meet at RCA in the evening or on the weekend. $50. You can call me on my cell at 585-1959. Jason
  11. You can clean the holey rock by gving it a dip in distilled white vinegar. That would disolve the outer layer of rock completely.
  12. I have two E-heim 1262 return pumps for sale. These pumps have a well deserved reputation as the best available submersible pumps on the market. They run great all the time, every time. I have never had a problem with an E-heim pump and these two are no exception. Both of the pumps are about 3 years old. Asking $100 each
  13. My general recommendations would be 1) wait until you are starting to get some significant film algae growth (3-5 days typically) 2) add some hermit crabs and feed 'em a small bit of pellet or raw food daily (small chunks of fresh shrimp are great) for a few more days 3) add some snails to help with the algae (make sure that you acclimate them very carefully)wait a week 4) after two weeks you should be ready to introduce a fish IMHO since you had some starter live rock to kick everything off What species are you planning on keeping in your tank? You would want to pick something that is relatively hearty and small but I wouldn't introduce anything that I wasn't planning on keeping.
  14. What Russel said except that I try to stick with a 3-5 times tank volume return regardless of whether or not there is a refugium just as a matter of personal preference. I find it easier to control noise and micro-bubbles with less flow through the drain. For the pump on my new 34 gallon tank I went with an E-heim 1250. It is within my target flow range at that head pressure and I have always been very happy with the E-heim pumps that I have owned in the past. Mag drive pumps would be another reasonable choice IMHO.
  15. Dpo you have over flow boxes or are you just drilling a hole in the back for a drain? Is the tank glass or acrylic, if it's glass have you drilled glass before? How many GPH are you running through your return pump?
  16. Hmmm - I would go down to Aquatek and ask Bruce about that one. It seems like it would be kind of an odd arrangement but it might work.
  17. I would recommend just running the 4 x VHO actinic bulbs and using them for actinic supplementation. 2 x VHOs are plenty of supplemental light on a 24" tank - you can take a look at mine on Sunday if you want to see it.
  18. It looks like I am taking everything down on Sunday due to the popularity of my other sales. Iv'e got a couple more things to add for sale: mated pair of pajama cardinal fish - $20 fancy brittle sea star - $10 tiger brittle sea star - $10 Also, I will do a price drop on the remaining fishies 2 large purple tangs - $60 ea / both for $100 1 large yellow tang - $20 coral beauty angel - $10
  19. royal gramma and bi-color blenny are pending to Mike McD sailfin is pending to Robert Ochoa, next in line is VW Mike
  20. Well, if you change your mind on the wood colors I've got a light pine stand and canopy (48 x 18) from Pewtsmart in pretty good shape that is taking up space in my garage. You can always paint it. Yours for $50 if you pick it up. There is also an 80 gallon aquarium with it but it has a clean crack in the top brace, which could be siliconed if you're handy and willing to patch it. (A piece of glass glued over it should work just fine.) I'll give you the tank for free if you want it.
