Does anyone know of an honest and good Roofing company? The high winds have blown a small section of my shingles off and I need them replaced tomorrow when the wind dies down.

Added another reefer to the family today. My 11 yr old daughter has been bugging me for a reef tank for months and my wife has been the one saying "no". AJ, I think you will like the 2:1 ratio. That is what I did and I really like the color. Looks like you are addressing the 1 thing I didn't and that is the Reds and Greens. Good luck on your build! Looks like it is well planned out and going to be beautiful! -

We are off to the British Virgin Islands tomorrow for a week of catamaran sailing and snorkeling... Kid Free, as Grandparents are coming to take care of them while we are away. Nothing like swimming in God's reef tank to really enjoy the sea life and dream of what else I want in mine.

I would leave them at work and they should be fine as long as they are healthy now and eating well.

most of the LFS have RO/DI water and they do have a vested interest in your tank staying stable where the stations do not. So like Mr Cob says, invest in your own unit or use one of your LFS.

DerrickH, adding them when they are small definitely helps with them getting along. Your Hippo will eventually outgrow your 40g and you will need to get rid of it or as most of us inevitably do, upgrade in tank size. good luck!

I have 3 small Hippos, a lg Yellow Tang and a lg Powder Blue Tang all together in a 180g. The Yellow was added first and then the 3 Hippos and later a Naso and the Powder Blue together. The Yellow chased the Hippos for about a day and has completely left them alone since. He didn't bother the Naso much but definitely doesn't like the Powder Blue... He still confronts him every now and then, but the total harrassment is not constant anymore. I believe this is more due to them being the same shape and more competitive with each b/c of this. Your biggest negative against you is your tank size and one you definitely need to consider... The other variable that you can never really predict is the individual fish's agression level. Some fish of the same kind will have totally different temperments and it is somewhat a matter of luck and observation while in the fish store on what temperment you get. Also fish size can play a role in suitability... It may be too late now, but with your tank size; you would have been better off to add them at the same time...

From my understanding is you take the LED watts and multiply it by 3 and that is the equivalent of MH watts... So we may need to verify that since we have differing info... for example I have 24 RB and 14 CW = 38 3 watt LEDs on 1 heatsink for a total of 114 LED watts and 342 MH watts. Even that I think is a high estimate from what I am seeing in my tank. Also I think it largely depends on the Optics degree and distance the lights are from the tank...

I have 2 250w Ebo Jager heaters. They are roughly 17" long and rated for tanks of around 100g. I have 1 black and 1 green. I am selling them for $10 each. Both work great. Will consider coral frag trades for something other than GSP, Kenya Tree, etc. SOLD
