  1. I've used a coralife pro and with some minor mods it worked okay. Didn't like the size or hassel with unscrewing the collection cup for cleaning. I recently purchaed a tunze 9002 recommended by Mark and it works awesome! It's small, quite and no micro bubbles. Definately worth the extra $50 or so.

  2. He's about 2 inches across. Very hardy and active. I don't have an algae problem anymore and I'm tired of prying my frags and snails from his back. I could use some cheato but I'm open to other trades.

  3. upgraded to a tunze and need to unload this. works fine and comes with a flow valve that i picked up at home depot to eliminate overflow issues. everything is included. tomorrow im going to place it in some vinegar to clean it up a bit. first $50 takes it home.

  4. Bought this from Robert with the intent of building a new stand to house it and just decided I'm going a different route. I believe its 15 gallons. Its very sturdy. All the baffles are made out of 1/4" glass. It measures - 24" long, 10.5" wide and 13.5" deep. first $20 gets it.

  5. Err...drain the tank, take everything out, then drill it. No way would I ever drill a tank with anything in it.

Prof is a good local resource for this type of thing as well.

lol, of course. that would be a huge mess. I see where this originated from. Im unsure how to cover the drain holes. do i need an over flow box or a screen? I just placed a call into proof also

  6. my project this weekend is to drill, plumb and set up a sump / refugium. Mark has convinced me to drill my tank. I think I have that covered. However, i have a few questions as usual. :)

    I have a 30 gallon tank and a 15 gallon sump.

what size hole should i drill?

how do i prevent my substrate from draining? (screen?)

how many holes do I need?

where is the ideal location for the holes? (bottom, back?)

what size pvc should i use?

should i brace the holes in any way to prevent cracking?

Im assuming a shut off valve should be used?

anything out of the ordinary im forgeting?

    thanks guys

  7. thanks Mark, ill look into this further. i may have to break out the dewalt this weekend.

or just upgrade! I had my 30G for about 2 months before I went to a 55G so why not take the leap now?

mama wont go for that just yet. trust me I already tried.

Do I need to sit down and have a talk with her? :)
