  1. Thanks J, I’ll reach out to them and join those FB groups.
  2. I’m preparing to purchase a decent amount of quality acropora frags from Coral Euphoria and one other place. Before I do so I thought I would take a shot here and see if anyone has similar stock they need to prune or just make some cash. I’ll pay market value. I’m looking for mostly Millipora and Tenius. I would like a frag or two of something high end like Walt Disney or Homewrecker….. I’f your interested, let me know what you have and we can discuss the details.
  3. Thanks Tim, the tang is much better now. I took your advice and dropped a pump in one of the back corners of the tank that’s running to my UV. It was fairly easy since I already had it set up on a separate pump. I also used a powerhead on the opposite side of the tank and I dialed in the correct flow rate for parasites. His appetite has been great so I’m adding a little Selcon to his pellets and nori, 2-3 X per week. I made a couple adjustments to dkh and lighting and he’s Improving each day.
  4. I have around 10 fish in my 80 gallon DT. About a week ago I started dosing Alk through my Dos. The plan was to increase it slowly over the course of a week from 6.7 to 9ish. I made sure not to exceed 1dkh per day and everything was going fine until I reached 8.8 range. One of my tangs started developing what appears to be Ich. I shut down the Alk dosing and started doing some water changes to bring the Alk down a little. Right now it’s sitting at 8.15, it’s been a couple days and my tang is about the same. Not really better or worse. He’s eating normal but a little moody and skiddish. I’m assuming this was due to the Alk but I’m not positive because none of the other fish were affected. Did I do something wrong? What should I do at this point? I have a UV set up and running 24/7. I can set up a QT pretty quick.
  5. Thanks, my 110 gallon is almost done cycling. I placed a nice order through BRS. One of the items was the COR-15 return pump. After ordering I realized it needed the Apex controller. I visited a couple of local fish stores and the last one “Salty Fish” just happened to have a lightly used setup on consignment. I basically got the controller, energy bar, probes and auto feeder for less than half off, and everything works great. I love a good deal. I used the money I saved here to buy a Pax Bellum and a UV Sterilizer. how is your tank coming along?
  6. I just finished the first video. Very interesting to see the direct correlation between death and stress. How viruses live on the surfaces of coral even while they are healthy. The segment at the end about the lagoon and clams was cool also.
  7. Hello there, It’s been about 10 years since I was last here. I ended up settling down, getting married and starting a business in Austin. Oh how time fly’s by. Over the years I have thought about this hobby many times and missed it dearly. I would often look at my old 30 gallon tank pics and videos and comment to my wife about how much I enjoyed it and I should start it up again….. Well we recently relocated to San Antonio and into a much bigger house. I just ordered a new Waterbox tank and I’m super excited to be back. I’ve been combing YouTube lately and it’s very cool to see all the new tech and educational videos available. This hobby has come a long way and I’m ready to dive in head first. I plan to take advantage of some of this cool tech and build out a nice SPS heavy tank over the next year and looking forward to this journey. Blessing, Jessie
  8. I just returned from a trip to Chicago and had the pleasure of visiting their Shedd Aquarium. I took this cool video for you guys to enjoy.
  9. yea I'm leaning torwards the 120 also. It has a smaller foot print too. I don't have much more room in my sump.
  10. Im upgrading my skimmer this week. Ive narrowed it down to one of two both being SWC. I have a 30 gallon DT and a 20 gallon sump, with mostly SPS and about 6 fish. The SWC 150 is cheaper but isnt a cone and Im concerned with going too aggressive. Let me know what you guys think please. 11. last time I moved I posted in the "Free" section of CL that I needed some and received a couple offers pretty quick. Of course the post was flagged and removed but mission accomplished
  12. Im replacing the 4, T5 bulbs on my fixture soon and wanted some suggestions on color variations and mfr's. I am currently running the factory actinics and a phoenix 250w 14k.
  13. Bump still available. Willing to entertain lps offers as well
  14. I was concerned a little at first but its rated up to 60 gallons. Drops my temp 2 degrees in less than 10 minutes. Once I adjust my plumbing this weekend Ill double the flow to about 250 gph and it should be even less.
  15. I never noticed the temp screen changing so I dont believe so. It seemed to work "better" set at 26 degrees. It would keep the temp between 2-3 degrees either way. I may not have had enough flow going through it also. Funny thing is my aqua euro 1/13 has 1/2 inlet connectors and this guy has 5/8. I only had about 100 gph running through it. I would rather take a trade on some SPS, do you have any? If that doesnt fall through soon then I dont have an issue selling it. FYI - we can set up the chiller and a maxi jet 1200 I have, on a 5 gallon bucket and test it for anyone that is interested
  16. Azoo 120W Chiller/Heater combo model CH100. You'll need a feed pump (not included). This is a thermoelectric chiller, not a refrigerant chiller. Includes internal heater. Temperature is read in celcius. Its about 8' wide X 10" long X 8" tall and has 5/8" inlet/outlet connections. Comes with everyhting you see. I got this off of CL a couple months ago free with a tank that I bought. The guy had no idea what it was and just gave it to me. I think its too small from my total water volume (50 gallons) It turns on both to cool and heat but takes way too long to drop my temp and drops the temp a couple degrees more than I liked. Possibly due to my volume or maybe the celcius to ferenheit difference. I think it will work good on a 25 gallon or less set up. I ended up buying an aqua euro1/13 hp recently and dont have a use for this. I couldnt find much on the internet about it so Id like to just trade for some nice SPS frags. I figure its worth about $75 - $100 used. Please no birdnest or digi or monticap offers, ive got plenty. Thanks
