I've actually had the opportunity to chat with the boys in blue in San Antonio, more than once. As soon as I showed them what I actually had going on, they were really cool about it, and quite interested in the corals. They couldn't understand why someone would drive 3 1/2 hours to meet up with some other people who were either picking up, or delivering. I can see why they would be suspicious though, and you can't really blame them I'm pretty sure they thought I must be deranged.

Pretty normal reaction if you ask me. Whenever I've used red slime remover I get the same thing. Up your water changes and run your skimmer wet. It won't take but a couple days to get the nonsense back under control. You shouldn't see any weird problems from the foam, other than the aggravation of having to deal with it.

TDS creep. And your initial guess is correct

When your rodi comes on initially, the first bit of water that comes through the membrane and into the resin has quite a high tds. This high tds can shorten di resin lifespan. To avoid TDS creep, only run your system when you need quite a bit of water made. Leaving a system on to kick on and off as the reservoir calls for water during topoffs will quickly deplete di resin.

Corky Finger gorgonian. Photosynthetic, likes medium to high flow, medium to high light. Will filter feed, but primarily depends on lights for nutrition.

Is any of this hardy enough for someone who just started out? Maybe the Zoas?

That depends on if the tank is cycled. If your cycle is complete then zoas and shrooms should do just fine. Shoot me a pm.

I realize this is a long shot, but does anyone have a decent treadmill that they are looking to rehome for either a small cash fee or coral trade? Powered with an incline is necessary please. I'm actively trying to lose weight due to a back problem, and could really, really use a treadmill to help me reach my goal. Not looking for free, but don't want to pay a huge chunk of change either.

Do you think the filefish would be too large for a 29gal biocube?

I have an aiptasia problem in my cube and would rather a fish than using chemicals to smother them.

Hate to just use him and lose him, but.... pay it forward?

I think he would be fine in a 29g. He's not huge by any means at all. He does love him some aiptasia, hoovers them right up he does. If you want him, let me know and I'll bring him down when I come on Saturday.

Aiptasia eating filefish, about 3" long. Eats aiptasia, no idea if he eats corals there were none in his tank. He also happily eats frozen food and nori! Very healthy.
