A lil. I sent an email to the the pod queen aka Dr. Adelaide Rhodes . If anyone knows she does.

I'm just letting you know what works. You also read much about people losing them. I haven't and mine are under strait halides and medium flow.
-
Try a Kole Tang or anything from the bristle tang family. I can drop a rock from your tank in mine and it will be clean by morning. I do it all the time when buying corals from yuck tanks (no offence). I also have a Molly Miller Blenny which I got from the coast who doesn't care if it's bryopsis or hair it's just lunch. My 240g is picked clean constantly and I never have a problem with anything.
One other thing to try but woun't make a huge dent, mollies.

A crustacean of a bug. Not a sand flea though my tank is loaded with them, this guy is flat like a pill bug. I have at least 100 stomatas in my growth tank and I'm sure it is not a snail. It jigs around like a sand flea when bothered however.

I do believe that mh are key with this coral Eric.

As a good lot of you know I am an avid collector of the Euphyllia Corals Anything that floats waves and looks pretty really. Anyhow hammers being my primary collection as I have ten different strands right now. I grow concerned when they well, just die. Originally I thought brown slime but after the last ones were simply sloffing off with no brown I have grown increasingly worried as to the culprit. I began washing them at random in coral rx. Today I found a new bug that I can not identify on my pastel purple wall hammer. It was to small to successfully photograph but maybe someone can help me with an ID. It was about 2mm long, clear with 2 small black dots which I assume were eyes along with visible "guts" behind the eyes. The bug was similar to a common pill bug and it had a hard shell. It moved rapidly and lasted almost 10 minutes in the coral rx. Can anyone identify? Could this new bugger be making a meal of my hammers?

I have one indo under 400w 14k and one aussie under 250w 14k. Both have done well in my tank and I have had them for well over 6 months. The aussie came from aqua sd and the indo came from ocean in a box i believe. The indo one people have more trouble with and the only reason I got it was the low auction price. When I got it it was a huge surprise! Literally, the skeleton was no bigger thatn 2" and it plumed out to about 10". It has very long tentacles and resembles a bta or lta to the untrained eye. While it lacks stunning color I favor it over the one I paid over a buck for lol. I have had no trouble keeping them but that could well be due to the size of my system. As for the clowns I have 12 and the love to host the elegances.

Now I hove found 3 hosts! on one feather! I swear I have never seen 3 on one star. Crazy!

Looking for these guys cash or trade.

I'm sure someone will chime in who has used them but I usually just wedge softies deep in a crack. As long as some part of it see's daylight it will attach and grow out. Try this on for size.

What color did you get?

Im sure there are plenty of elastic bands in the ocean right?

Box Fish, Standard. 4" 20$ non reef safe
Roommates dubbed him Short Bus. Short bus needs a new home. Got him cheap, selling him cheap.
Similar 2 short bus in size and coloration but this is not him.

We had a couple of our corals do this in the past, including a brain just like yours. One stayed and the other changed again to yet another color. Seems like they did that when they came under a lot of stress.
I agree, I've seen it with zoas a lot but first with a brain. The T5 dual was clearly not enough for this guy.

My feather star decided to move to the other side of my 8' tank in the day time. Very rare to catch him on such a massive move!
Again sorry for miss pronouncing it about 20 times. I'm working on voicing over it all with my limited software. Help me mark! lol
So I found another host! A crinoid crab. Very odd that I had not seen him before considering dwarfs the other hosts at about the size of a quarter. So that makes 3. The lobster, crab and shrimp all share this little guy!
-
yes yes I do recall. I will be vigilantly watching for signs of stress and damage
-
So my Velvet Brain has gone pink under T5's. The automatic response from my fellow reefers should be "Bleaching!" I have placed it in my main tank for the 250w 14K to work some magic. The color is super bright and the brain itself is healthy and retracted at all. It still blows up and feeds. I just hope under the halides it will keep this super pink! You guys think it will go back to red?
(Hydro he wouldn't stay outa my shot! lol)

Sea hares are not permanant. once they eat it all you have to find them a new home. I have among other fish a Molly Miller Blenny which I got from Corpus Christi, and a Kole Tang. Between the 2 of them I never worry about any algae growth. I also have urchins. Thursday I put a hair algae covered rock in my main tank and by friday morning it was picked clean. Those guys combined with my cleaner wrasse army and a copperband hit all the bad ones and I relieve my stress level. If I ever start a tank again I will def get the useful fish before I get the pretty ones.

I lost several like that before they got well over an inch. I think it's the law of nature bit. I split mine into several tanks with multiple daily feedings and mortality improved. I have one that is a runt, still a little under an inch. He refuses to grow while the others are about 2" I imagine in the wild he would have been gone long ago. Perfect for a nano though lol

I just got rid of a fox face that after a year started eating acans, sps, and my open brains. I had to order my fish trap and it took weeks to get it. By then head had eaten one head of my rainbow acans and about 10 heads of others that I had. He also kept nipping at zoas so they started not opening and then dying off. I hated that fish by the time I got him out.
I have a trap but I'm using it to catch a couple of other fish.
and he's very happy and well behaved in my tank. (for now) lol
You should post the picture you sent me of the foxface in your tank! LMAO

I have an aptasia eating copperbanded butterfly you can have if you want to catch him. Once he is finished with your aptasia he will pick on your acans and steals mysis from lps. Beautiful fish, come and get him.
sounds like a fish i can use!

I actually would put my money on the nudibranch. They lay eggs in spirals. How long has it been in the tank? Nassarius snails lay in a different pattern.

When I began my tank I made sure I had one fish with a purpose per one pretty fish. It has worked out well
