Have a question which I can't find any answers to on the various reference sites.
Have 3 tanks of similar width and depth: 48"x13"x20" 55g, 30"x13"x20" 29 gal and 14"x13"x16" 20gal
that I was thinking of setting up as frag, holding and specialty tanks (SH), etc. (but not as quarantine tank).
I also have a 30gal already plumbed as a fuge/sump.
I am looking for both pro and con inputs and how-to ideas on daisy-chaining the 3 tanks together and using
the one sump with skimmer for all 3. My idea is to have in-tank overflow boxes (trying to avoid the probs
that people seem to have with HOB equipment).
Any feedback would be appreciated.
thanks,

During last nights chat someone (I beleive Irssix) asked about 14000K Halites.
I received a response from ReefGeeks asking about replacing 10000K DE bulbs with 20000Ks.
His response was:
"Hi Wayne,
Thanks for the order!
For 20000K metal halides I would recommend the Ushio 20000K+ or the Phoenix
14000K+. (The Phoenix 14000K+ bulb is actually much closer in color to a
"20K" than a "14K" bulb. Between those 2 lamps you can't really go wrong.
Most of our customers choose the Phoenix I think primarily because it's a
little bit cheaper. "
Note I did just go ahead and add 2 Phoenix 14000K to my order a few minutes ago,
Am very impressed with their customer service.

Corey: My paypal account is: [email protected].
I will go ahead and add the two reflectors to my cart (you did mean the Mira4 reflectors right?).
Order will go out sometime this week, just waiting for my funds to transfer into my paypal account.
Don't worry about shipping fees, shouldn't make that much difference.
PM me with your address and telephone number so as to arrange a meet.

Cory - getting ready to put in an order to ReefGeeks for a couple of retro fixtures. They have the reflectors for 23.00 each. http://www.reefgeek.com/lighting/T5_Fluorescent/LET_Lighting/Miro-4_Reflectors/. If you're interested, let me know and I''ll add them to my order.

Check with Austin Seal (see 'o' ring forum that Derry posted. Looks as if they carry tubing.

Note: if you get the rigid plastic 'stick' that Mark talks about, you can heat it up near the end and pull it until you get the smaller diameter you want.

PS - trick from my old model railroading scratch-building days.

buy a cheapo from the store and super glue stiff air line tubing to the end.

I am originally from Wisconsin and Minnesota where they literally dump thousands of tons of salt on the roads each winter. If that is not causing any damage, I doubt the water from an aquarium would, so I used to just walk out to the curb and dump it in the gutter.
+1 - however from midwest, same salting of roads though, with no noticable effect on grass/plants during growing season.

Supplies:
- Non slip shoes
- flashlight for lighting the way back
- head lamp (preferably with the red lights so that it doesn't scare the critters away. I used a regular white light and did well)
- net (Buy @Aacademy or walmart - needs to have a metal or plastic rim so that it doesn't tear on the rock
- battery operated areator
- 5 gallon bucket
-
drinks
Keep in mind...everything youtake with you, you will have to walk back with. It's a bit of a walk.
Got everything on the list except for net (did get a small baitwell net), but wasn't sure what size would be best or if it should have a telescopic handle. Walmart had one I was looking at. Also our Walmart seemed to have a good selection of headband lights with both white and red leds.

Hey remember the old wives tale, about the warmer the seed the more chance for a son. Although I never went with a spandex suit. LOL

Mark, my guess is 66 days from day he comes home from hospital. Time would be 0930.
I figure you should have another contest - date and time that he christens you while changing his diaper.

Mark, since it sounds like they'll be home tomorrow - my guestimate is 23 July at 0930.
-
heck that will happen next week!
LOL - Yea I made it for 3 weeks before being baptised with my 1st one, but only about a week and a half with 2nd son.

Finding this post interesting mainly for future use.
I too use a Red Sea test kits to check water parameters, but not as often as probably needed to
be due to color difficulties, etc. Finally got the Jungle Labs 6 in 1 test strips for preliminary checks
and only go with Red Sea when strip reading appears high or is questionable. I found myself
making checks more often. Also occasionly take samples into LFS or our local Petco for
verification when I remember.
Seems to be working okay with my Nano, but realize will have to get more serious, more
accurate when I get the 120 up and running. So far seems to be ELOS or Lamotte test kits
are the way to go.

Don't forget the chocolate and gram-crackers to go with the marshmellows.
hot dogs, buns and condiments.
Question: are glass containers allowed on beach? Or do we need to find
wine coolers in a can? Dr. said not to drink, but a bit of wine with meals is okay. LOL
he didn't define what a 'bit' is and I figure smores and hot dogs constitute a meal.

Don't know which vehicle we are taking yet, so we might be limited on space as to
what we bring.
