  1. Could be dinos. If so, you'll need a multifaceted plan of attack. I beat them with massive water changes and a 3 day blackout, followed by a week of actinics only while dosing hydrogen peroxide.I also ran carbon in a reactor throughout, cut my fish feeding to every three days, and did another massive water change afterwards. Dinos can be resilient, so you often can't beat them without going all-out. Good luck!

  2. OK guys, I still have some rock left. For those who are interested, I took a picture and have included weights and prices on the pieces remaining.

    Rock #1 - 16 pounds - $40

    Rock #2 - 7 pounds - $17.50

    Rock #3 - 15 pounds - $37.50

    Rock #4 - 5.5 pounds - $12

    Rock #5 - 6 pounds - $15

    Rock #6 - 3 pounds - $7.50

Plus some assorted rubble. If anyone wants to take it all, I'll sell the whole batch ( ~52.5 lbs) for $100.00. Cash only please!

  3. I had to salvage some ballast cords from my old Odyssea MH fixture and now it's free to whoever wants it. It needs 2-250 watt ballasts. The MH lamps work, but the 65 watt PC actinics have been iffy for quite some time. Comes with a hanging kit attached.

I'll be free tomorrow night at 7:00 if anyone wants to come pick it up; PM me. Otherwise, it's going out on the curb for an intrepid hydroponics enthusiast to snap up ;)

  4. Biocube, it looks like I have one flat long piece (about 12" long, 4-5" wide, 2-3" thick) that might make a good shelf... Actually I have several pieces that are flat, but some of them are quite large and I'm not sure what kind of shelf you're going for. They made geat shelves in my 150... but in a 29 gallon they'd probably be too big.

  5. Well, I still have quite a bit of rock left, including most of the large pieces. I won't be doing any selling tomorrow because I'm taking my father out to dinner for his birthday, but I will be resuming the sale on Friday evening. I get off work a little after six, so I'll be available to meet people starting at seven.

I'm located in north central Austin; pm me for my address and to set up a time if you would like some rocks! And again, bring a bucket.

    Here's a pic of what's left:

  6. I'm cleaning out some of my equipment, and I have a few electronic 250 watt MH ballasts that need to go.

    #1 - 250 watt Odyssea ballast with all cords - $20

#2 - 250 watt Odyssea ballast, needs a connector cord (from ballast to light) - $10

#3 - 250 watt Coralvue ballast, nicked cord repaired with electrical tape, in working condition - $20

    Cash only.

  7. I've got a 40 gallon breeder tank stuffed to the gills with live rock. Come help me clean it out!

The selection varies from big pieces to little pieces, purple coralline to clean white (from the sump), and a few with sponge growth or little nubs of tricolor Acro growing (including one with a small colony, center of picture).

$2.50/lb, cash only, BYO bucket. Will be available for pickup Wednesday during the afternoon and evening, or Friday evening. Thanks!

  8. OK, since we couldn't arrange a pickup today, here's how the line stands:

    1. Txam43

    2. Mikedelgado

    3. wizardx322

Whoever takes the tank will need to bring a truck and at least three, preferably four strong people to load it (Oceanic builds tanks like... well, tanks) because it's quite heavy. Thanks for all the replies, ARC!

  9. I'm selling my Oceanic 156 gallon aquarium and downsizing into a smaller setup. It's been a great tank, but school, work and finances have reluctantly convinced me that I don't have the time for it any more. The tank is only one year old and measures L 60.5 x W 24.5 x H 25 (the two feet of front-to-back space is great for rockscaping). It is built with ultra-clear Starphire front glass and black trim, and comes with the matching black stand.

It is equipped with two Megaflow overflows and all the plumbing, minus the return pump and one hose (which you can get from Aquatek for cheap). I'm also including the sump we built to go with it, which is a modified 75 gallon aquarium with baffles dividing it into sections for a protein skimmer, a refugium and a sump. All you'd need is a pump, a hose and a light and you'd have an awesome reef setup.

$400 for all, cash only. Pics to come.

  10. Hi everyone! Sadly, the combined demands of school, work and finances have dictated that I downsize my 150 gallon reef into something more manageable. As such, I'm setting up a 27 gallon cube tank, and must sell my Tunze wavebox. I purchased it new from Aquatek last summer, and aside from traces of coralline algae on the box, it's in perfect condition. If it could fit in my new tank or if I thought I'd be in a place to set up another big tank anytime soon I'd keep it, because it's a great piece of equipment and my corals loved the flow.

Comes with 6091 controller, pump, light sensor (very handy), even the orignal box and intstructions - the whole shebang. $250 takes it.

Sorry for the pic, I had to take it with my phone.
