  1. Hi all!

I just got back from a few weeks in Port Aransas at the UTMSI, and I came home with a few turtlegrass seeds (Thalassia) that are in the process of sprouting. I was originally planning on setting up a seagrass tank with them and maybe trying for seahorses, but I am leaving again for Alaska in a few days and just don't have the time. If anyone wants to try their hand at raising some turtlegrass from seed, they can have them. They were collected floating in the Corpus Christi Bay. I also have some clumps of Mermaid's Wine Glass algae (Acetabularia) that you can have too.

They're sitting in a Gatorade bottle on top of my tank, come get'em!

  2. I've always been able to tickle mine off if I can reach the foot. If not, I find shading them or otherwise making them uncomfortable (pointing a powerhead directly at them, etc) usually convinces them to move. Good luck!

  3. Bump for a great guy! Roland has gorgeous corals, and his electric blue digitata is really a stunner! I got some lovely birdsnests and digitata from him a while back and they're doing fantastic.

  4. This is really interesting to me, because I just added a GFO reactor to my tank a few weeks ago and have noticed that my birdnests (a green and a pink) have both become extremely pale. I didn't realize that a sudden depletion of PO4 could stress a coral.
