Hi there,
I have a 29 gal. project that never took off so I want to just get rid of it. This includes a 29 gal. tank, the metal stand, a 30" Coralife dual HO T5 2x 31 watt light that has never been used, a Red Sea Prizm HOB skimmer that has never done me wrong, and 30-40 lbs of dry rock that I started curing and never finished. The rock comes in large as well as small and medium sizes. I will also throw in a Skimmer/Wet/Dry filter/Auto Top off system that doesn't come with pumps and the ATO is lacking a bit too but this is what it is similar too (they could be the same thing but I am not 100%) http://www.aquaticho...s/tomwetdry.asp Its the #13160 second on the page and I'll give you a very large, not meant for this tank overflow box too if you want it. Here are some pictures. Oh and the light on the tank is just the standard light not the Coralife which you can have too.
Also I forgot, the Coralife is lacking the actinic light. I took that bulb and put in a 10,000k so it's two 10,000ks and I have an extra ColorMax Bulb that Ill put with it too
$250 for all of it. I really just want it all gone at once.

Ok after looking at gabes tank I think I'm going to go the way of very dark blue too. I have had black for some time now and I think I wanna try something different.
-
Ok I had the two montis (sunset and rainbow) and here are the pics of them 9 & 10
And then here's my mystery coral.
I had ordered another two eye favia frag that wasn't part of the frag pack. This is what it is supposed to be:
and I very well might have it and it just looks different from shipping but I'm not entirely sure.
Sorry if this mucked things up I was really expecting for them to label everything.

This is a great idea. Ill go get some pics before I put them in the tank.

i used to have a little hitchiker that acted like a fisherman. he would send out a long almost spiderweb like white string and catch food with it then slowly bring it back in. if he got his fill before he got it all the way in though he would cut the line and it would float away in the tank. it may be something like that.

both are at zero. ill try moving them away from the area. they are the closest colony to it.
-
Anybody?? They are still so distressed

I so want your small grape but you live soooo far from me....hmph. Do you by chance have a pic of the rainbow acans? Its such a shame to think of that beautiful tank being taken apart

Darbys really is a great shop. I used to go there back when I was freshwater and they are extremely helpful. Saltwater is a bit different. I know they don't carry much but they are a pretty small shop. I do know that if you are interested in something though they will help whatever way they can. They worked so hard finding me these very specific freshwater plants a few years back right after all of the hurricanes and everything was still so reasonably priced. I totally wouldn't mind giving them a little business.

Where at in New Braunfels? I frequent both there and south Austin. If you want maybe sometime I can get some and bring it into south Austin and you could pick it up from there. At least it would cut your drive in half. I am in Austin usually on a Thursday or Friday.

Last week I was moving some corals around and found a colony of hydroids (gonna work on getting those gone asap). I think it got irritated or something though because one of my other zoanthid colonies shrank up and began to swell immediately afterward. I did a small water change and then did a large water change but half of the colony is still all upset looking. Its been about a week now and half won't come out and one or two are still swollen. Everything else in the tank is fine though. Is it possible that the hydroids did this (they aren't touching) or is it maybe something else. Should I be worried? I love this colony

So since I've had my tank all I've had in it are soft corals but I have a favia on its way and know that it has sweeper tentacles. So my question is exactly how far away from other corals am I supposed to keep it? How close can I get away with? I only have a 29 gallon tank.

I've checked the phosphate like three time and it comes up zero. Ive also done some small water changes but Im gearing up for a big one now.
-
Is it common to have a big algae bloom after moving? My whole tank gets coated with what looks like diatoms and other patches of random algae (small patch of hair and small patch of red) I have tested the water over and over and all parameters are where they are supposed to be.
29gal
nitrate,nitrite,ammonia,phosphate = 0
dkh 9 calcium 450ppm
salinity 1.024 pH 8.3
The only other thing I can think of is that the room I have moved it too has MUCH more natural daylight than where I used to live. I have been living here for about a month now and just wondering if there is anything I can do to get rid of this nastiness.

ok if no one wants #10 before its too late ill take it too. This is just too good of a deal.
-
Ill take #9 if everyone is still in on this.

Awesome. I just saw one of these guys for the first time yesterday in my tank and thought...now what the heck is that. I love this forum.
-
Oh this forum is awesome. That's what I thought he was but wasn't 100%. Thanks so much! Oh and by NO means do I recommend buying from Polly's!
