  1. Ok I had the two montis (sunset and rainbow) and here are the pics of them 9 & 10 And then here's my mystery coral. I had ordered another two eye favia frag that wasn't part of the frag pack. This is what it is supposed to be: and I very well might have it and it just looks different from shipping but I'm not entirely sure. Sorry if this mucked things up I was really expecting for them to label everything.
  2. This is a great idea. Ill go get some pics before I put them in the tank.
  3. i used to have a little hitchiker that acted like a fisherman. he would send out a long almost spiderweb like white string and catch food with it then slowly bring it back in. if he got his fill before he got it all the way in though he would cut the line and it would float away in the tank. it may be something like that.
  4. I so want your small grape but you live soooo far from me....hmph. Do you by chance have a pic of the rainbow acans? Its such a shame to think of that beautiful tank being taken apart
  5. So since I've had my tank all I've had in it are soft corals but I have a favia on its way and know that it has sweeper tentacles. So my question is exactly how far away from other corals am I supposed to keep it? How close can I get away with? I only have a 29 gallon tank.
  6. I've checked the phosphate like three time and it comes up zero. Ive also done some small water changes but Im gearing up for a big one now.
  7. Is it common to have a big algae bloom after moving? My whole tank gets coated with what looks like diatoms and other patches of random algae (small patch of hair and small patch of red) I have tested the water over and over and all parameters are where they are supposed to be. 29gal nitrate, nitrite, ammonia, phosphate = 0 dkh 9 calcium 450ppm salinity 1.024 pH 8.3 The only other thing I can think of is that the room I have moved it too has MUCH more natural daylight than where I used to live. I have been living here for about a month now and just wondering if there is anything I can do to get rid of this nastiness.
  8. ok if no one wants #10 before its too late ill take it too. This is just too good of a deal.
  9. Ill take #9 if everyone is still in on this.
  10. Oh this forum is awesome. That's what I thought he was but wasn't 100%. Thanks so much! Oh and by NO means do I recommend buying from Polly's!
  11. OK so I found myself in New Braunfels Thursday and decided to just stop in a Polly's Pet Shop on a whim. Well I got myself a flasher wrasse but no one there could answer my question as to which kind or whether or not it was a male or female. So I'm hoping someone on here will know.
  12. I'm not too sure about the lights but I've always been told that anemones are a big no no with seahorses. Pretty much you don't want anything in your tank that the seahorse can aimlessly land on that would be dangerous to them. They are poor swimmers and "hitch" to just about anything. You also want low flow and to make sure that whatever intakes you have are covered so that the seahorse won't be in danger of getting stuck.
  13. I actually sold both skimmers yesterday and the overflow is pending with keeperofthezoo as is the magfloat
  14. I've had the rock for about a month, maybe a little less. I got it from AquaDome from one of their newer shipments. Also they are flat against the rock. The one on top is actually flat against a part of rock that is curving up its not a soft base...if that makes sense
  15. So I just noticed this coming out on the rock with my pinks. They are tinie tiny but I tried to get a pic anyway. I really need a macro lens. Anyway if you can tell what it is from the photos I'm really curious. They have a ring of tentacles and the inside looks to be white and open. It's hard to see from the location they are in. If you click the pictures the image gets much bigger so you can see better p.s. ignore the file name its not for sale. haha
  16. Ok ill have it ready for you then. Thanks.
  17. Yes if you do want it. I had msgd you and thought you were to come today but never heard back. I mentioned above that it might already be taken. Would you maybe like to meet somewhere in between?
  18. These were all used on a 180gal. The skimmer should definitely be fine for the tank. I am selling this for my mother though. I have a 29gal and don't use an overflow so I'm not sure if its possible that this is too large?? Maybe other reefers who have bigger systems would know. The magfloat should be fine though
  19. Ok how about $50 for the coralife skimmer. $10 for the other one, $20 for the overflow and the magfloat for $5 ??? The overflow might be taken not sure.
  20. I have a box full with two skimmers one is a Coralife Super Skimmer 125 and the other I'm not sure of but its big. Both skimmers have pumps one is a mag 5 and the other came with the Coralife Skimmer. There is also an overflow, tons of fittings and tubing and a large MagFloat glass scrubber. Asking $100. The skimmer sells for over $175 new. Let me know if you're interested.
  21. Yeah he gets really excited about the food just not enough to venture out and get it. Ill just keep a good eye on him and hopefully it will all work out. Thanks!
  22. He's been here for about two weeks maybe a little less. That's reassuring. I feed cyclopeeze and sometimes mysis and I see him actually go for the food maybe five to eight times per feeding session.
  23. I recently added a green clown goby to my tank and I'm afraid he isn't eating enough. He isn't wasting away but I'm worried that he will start to. He is very skiddish and hides all of the time. He does like to eat but refuses to move anywhere but his hiding place to eat anything. I have tried targeted feeding and he gets completely petrified and just lets all of the food float past him until I leave then he flees as fast as he can to a new hiding place. Is there anything I can do? Should I worry? He gets food but it doesn't seem like it's enough to sustain him.
  24. That's the desired look. They are 31w each ho t5s. I still have a lot of research to do before I buy one. I was just curious if they would even be at all compatible with my system first. I really appreciate the advice.
