I'm pretty sure it's the top brace that's bowing. Probably have to just suck it up and get a new stand. Oh well. Just ran a 4 ft level across the front and the wood wasn't in line with the level. And not real sure what water putty is, just saw someone mentioning it on RC.

Ok...question for you guys. I got a used 135 from someone breaking down their tank here and have had it sitting in my garage until I was ready to use it. Got it ready to go, brought it in the house, put it on the stand and noticed there is a gap along the front top rail, about 1/8th of an inch at it's biggest point. It probably runs a good 4 feet of the length of the tank, and gets smaller towards the ends. What are my options to get this shimmed? Or do I have to scrap the stand and start over. It's the standard Oceanic oak stand if that helps for a frame of reference. I tried putting in about 20 gallons of water to see if it would level out once there was some weight in the tank, but it hasn't budged and I'm too nervous to keep filling this thing until there isn't a gap. I've read somewhere to put a piece of 3/4 inch plywood across the top, and shim underneath that, then put the tank on top. Or could I even use 1/2 inch? Someone else mentioned using water putty. Any ideas?

I was looking at getting one or two of these to pair with my MP40 on a 135. Anyone have any thoughts on these? Thinking either two 1050's or one 1400.

Just fed my fish, and gave them some algae flakes. Coolest thing was...the target mandarin sort of floated up to a couple and picked em off. This was the first time I've ever seen him eat prepared food after 6 months or so in the tank. I was in the middle of a conversation with my girlfriend, but she didn't nearly appreciate this as much as she needed to when I interrupted her sentence to tell her of the awesomeness I just witnessed. I knew you folks would understand, so I ran to my computer to spread the love.

I was down to the Apex vs. Apex Lite debate, and went for the full blown Apex. Haven't hooked it up yet, waiting until I move and set up my new tank. I feel like I may be going towards LEDs in the future, and want the ability to use the Apex to dim them. I personally would rather spend the extra 130 and know that I have stuff that I may want down the road. Apex Lite comes with the temp probe only I believe, and no PH. Nem just split today, and I think one of them is attached to a small rock. $20 takes it if you can get it this evening. I'm in central Austin. Before the split, the disk was probably 4-5 inches across.

How do I get one of these out of the tank when they're attached to rock? Went and looked this morning, and it was starting to split. Then right when I was leaving for work, it was two totally separate nems.

This is kind of a shelf-ish piece of LR that has been cooking in a Brute for a couple weeks now. I got it from a MAAST member that was breaking down their tank. It's about 18 inches long, and around 12lbs.

Anyone handy with a soldering iron? Just ordered an LED setup for a 25 gallon Solana. Not setting the tank up until July, but may get started on the lights before that. Would appreciate anyone's input who has done this before.
