I think about get 25 gallon of water reserve tank for water from RO/DI to mix with salt to running mixing for long time in storage to easy to access to exchange water with salt. instead to filling RO/DI for a day then mix with salt for 24 hours then exchange in tank.. I am busy with school.. so want to have some water and salt in storage and leave it powerhead to running to mix the salt and water and heater. not recommend for long period? mojo Posted February 7, 2007 Share Posted February 7, 2007 I have a 30g tank, and I change 5 gallons every other week. I make up 20g of salt water at a time, so if you do the math, it takes me 2 months to use up the last of my reservoir of salt water. I keep it mixing with a MJ1200 powerhead and so far no problems.
