Dead Anthias

Well, we had a Square Anthias named Spike in our 210. He seemed to have gotten beat up about a month ago, because we saw some bruising towards the back of his body and in his mid-section. We assumed he was roughed up by our Blue-Green Chromis. We thought that, because our small PJ Cardinal had gotten roughed up and had some torn fins etc. To make a long story short, he stopped eating this week again....we were watching him to see if we were going to have to quarantine. This morning he seemed to be respirating harder than usual, but my hubby wanted to give it another day or so. Well, this evening around 9pm I found him on the sand at the bottom of the tank. He looked a little bloated...... None of the other fish are acting strange. Anyone think we need to worry about something any of the other fish could catch?

We are leaving next Saturday on vacation for Christmas..... I will just keep my fingers crossed that none of the other guys start acting funny.

Poor Spike.....may he swim free always!

Thanks for the sad face. I am still sad that he is not there. I always would look at the tank in the morning, and he would be the first fish I would see :) boo-hoo.

On the brighter side, everyone else in the tank seems to be happy and healthy!
