stoneroller
My two cents.... I would be careful about how many fish you have and how much food is being dumped in for a tank that is only two months old; that is a VERY young tank. Keep a close eye out on nitrates; double check your results with the LFS. Second, hermit crabs will kill snails for their shells. Keep an extra supply of grow out shells in your tank. Daisy82
Well, I took the contents of someone's tank they had to break down (rock, 1/2 of the sand, 1/2 of the water, fish, snails, shrimp, crab) and moved it to mine - that's why I have so much in such a new tank. Surprisingly, my levels never spiked - so far so good. I do have about 7 extra shells of various sizes, and the shells of the eaten snails remain empty, so I'm betting they were just hungry.
